Background: Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) is one of the most common inherited neuromuscular disorders with a prevalence rate of 1 in 2,500 in the United States. CMT is a form of muscular dystrophy, and is an umbrella term for certain inherited genetic disorders that affect the peripheral nervous system. The genetic disorder is characterized by muscular wasting, weakness, and sensory loss, and is most severe in the distal lower extremities. Common symptoms include foot drop, high-stepped gait with frequent tripping or falls, foot deformities such as high arches and hammer toes, and loss of muscle bulk in the distal lower extremities. …

Background: Femoral Acetabular Impingement (FAI) is a known cause of hip pain in adolescents and young adults produced by altered hip joint mechanics. Types of FAI include Cam deformity, Pincer deformity or a combination. Abnormal abutment of the femoral head on the acetabular rim, especially during hip flexion and internal rotation (IR) causes a sharp, pinching pain in the groin and lateral hip. Chronic FAI can lead to hip osteoarthritis (OA) and labral and/or chondral defects. It is unknown if there is a correlation between FAI and sacralization.

The APTA has identified the roles of the CCCE and CI as leaders in physical therapy clinical education. In the literature there appears to be an absence of studies examining the CCCE and CI leadership style and its impact on the preparation for clinical instruction, extra effort, job satisfaction and effectiveness of quality clinical education. Current research suggests the cause is attributed to tissue degeneration due to repetitive stress to the wrist extensors. Information collected by Oliver and Plummer on ground reaction forces, kinematics, and muscle activation during the windmill softball pitch indicates how crucial strength and conditioning of the gluteal muscle group is to prevent injury during this movement pattern. To conduct this research, we decided to incorporate the “broken escalator phenomenon,” which is the unusual feeling that occurs when an individual steps onto an escalator or moving walkway that is broken and therefore not moving. Background: Due to the high degree of available range of motion of the Glenohumeral joint, it is highly susceptible to instability and injury. 98% of all traumatic shoulder dislocations are anterior. Background Weight gain during the childbearing years and failure to lose pregnancy weight after birth contribute to the development of obesity in postpartum Latinas. Methods Madres para la Salud [Mothers for Health] was a 12-month, randomized controlled trial exploring a social support intervention with moderate-intensity physical activity (PA) seeking to effect changes in body fat, fat tissue inflammation, and depression symptoms in sedentary postpartum Latinas. This report describes the efficacy of the Madres intervention.
