The purpose of this doctoral capstone project was to develop and provide an educational resource for acute care occupational therapists to improve knowledge and confidence in treating patients with serious illnesses using a palliative care approach. Through the needs assessment taken by the rehabilitation team, it was discovered that occupational therapists overall were least familiar with palliative care, but at least one occupational therapist reported feeling confident in addressing functional mobility, feeding, mental health, functional abilities, leisure activities, cognition, and communication to improve quality of life. Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is the descent of pelvic organs—such as the bladder, rectum, or uterus—into the vaginal canal, causing symptoms like discomfort, incontinence, and pain. Beyond physical effects, postpartum women may also experience anxiety, decreased self-confidence, and fear of symptom progression. Research by O’Boyle et al. Stroke remains a leading cause of adult disability and a significant global health concern. Effective rehabilitation strategies for cognitive and communicative impairments following stroke are limited (Kuhn & Sharman, 2023). To identify the most frequently used outcome measures in interventional studies for Long Covid in outpatient, home-based, and telerehabilitation physical therapy settings.

Methods:

Registered in PROSPERO (registration number: CRD42021286714) and conducted according to PRISMA guidelines, this review included interventional studies performed in outpatient, telerehabilitation, or home-based physical therapy settings, assessing adults with persistent Long Covid symptoms in at least 3 months post-COVID-19 infection and published in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
