One of the sports for the Special Olympics is snow-shoeing. In Hong Kong training for this sport occurs in the sand and is called sand-shoeing. The purpose of this study was to evaluate a sandshoeing training program (STP) of the Special Olympics Hong Kong (SOHK). Two hundreds and thirty-two Grade 1 to 12 special school students with intellectual disabilities (ID), and 66 university students without ID participated in the STP. Current research demonstrates that individual interventions reduce the risk of falls yet do not statistically reduce the number of falls (Gallo, Stelmach, Frigeri, & Ahn, 2018). This research focuses on the certified nursing assistant (CNA) population within the skilled nursing setting and their related understanding and use of intergenerational communication, specifically elderspeak. Principles of Occupational Therapy (OT) were integrated into an educational module that provided alternative forms of communication to foster a change in the interdisciplinary relationship between OT professionals and nursing paraprofessionals and to improve the experience of geriatric patients during their stay at a skilled rehabilitation facility. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of an 8-week judo program on self-competency, physical activity (PA) motivation, and enjoyment of PA in children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). METHODS: The sample included 20 children (ages 8 – 17) with a primary diagnosis of ASD. The participants completed an 8-week judo program that occurred once a week for 45 minutes.
