This study investigates the impact of individualized sensory diets on children’s occupational performance in daily life. Sensory diets are structured, child-specific interventions designed to facilitate improved sensory processing by integrating activities into established routines. They involve a tailored home program plan, consistent application, and interventions aligned with the child’s specific sensory needs (Wilbarger, 1995).Using a multiple single-case study design, this research examined the outcomes of sensory diets prescribed alongside direct occupational therapy (OT) services for four white male children aged 3 years, 11 months to 5 years, and 8 months with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Tensiomyography (TMG) has significant potential in examining muscle functionality while evading the limitations found in other methods muscle analysis. Specifically, the erector spinae and other lumbosacral muscles can be analyzed with little challenge. Such analyses include data on muscle displacement (Dm), delay time (Td), contraction time (Tc), half-relaxation time (Tr), and sustain time (Ts). Of these parameters, the most evaluated and with the highest level of reliability are Dm, Td, and Tc. Centered on the ACOTE focus area of program development, the project aimed to promote meaningful, accessible engagement through an occupational therapy lens.

Goals included assessing current activity effectiveness, identifying participation barriers, and developing evidence-based recommendations to improve variety, inclusivity, and therapeutic value. Objectives

The EQ-5D is a brief measure for assessing health-related quality of life (HRQoL), but chronic spinal cord injury (CSCI) related psychometric evaluation of the EQ-5D-5L has not been explored. We conducted a validation study on the Chinese version of the EQ-5D-5L for individuals with CSCI in China.

Methods

A cross-sectional study was conducted in the Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center. The floor and ceiling effects, internal consistency, test and retest reliability, discriminatory power (only for EQ-5D-5L), convergent validity (using Spearman correlation coefficients), and known-group validity of the EQ-5D-5L and visual analog scale (VAS) were analyzed.

Abstract

The therapeutic alliance is central to occupational rehabilitation, particularly for immigrant workers who face unique challenges of migration and of social and occupational integration. This study explores the development and maintenance of this alliance between immigrant workers with compensated work injuries and their care providers during work rehabilitation. Using ethnography, semi-structured interviews, and focus groups, the qualitative case study involved 7 injured immigrant workers and their interdisciplinary clinical team. The study identified several factors that weakened the alliance, including administrative complexity, conflicting views on pain and disability, cultural stereotypes, and interorganizational communication issues. Background/Purpose:

Hemophilic arthropathy (HA) is a progressive joint disease caused by recurrent hemarthroses in patients with hemophilia. Early radiographic identification of HA is critical for timely intervention and long-term joint preservation. This study aimed to develop and evaluate deep learning models for automated detection of HA in knee radiographs.

Methods:

A retrospective dataset of 849 knee radiographs (AP and lateral views) was used to train three convolutional neural networks: ResNet-34, DenseNet-121, and EfficientNet-B0. Model performance was assessed using standard classification metrics, including accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC. Interpretability was evaluated using Grad-CAM heatmaps.

We report a case of a 44-year-old woman who developed progressive dysphagia and shoulder stiffness, ultimately leading to a diagnosis of multiple myeloma (MM) with systemic light-chain (AL) amyloidosis. Despite intensive systemic therapy for MM with good serological response and nine months of comprehensive swallowing rehabilitation, her tongue mobility remained severely restricted, with only minimal improvement in laryngeal elevation. Videofluoroscopic swallowing study (VFSS) confirmed poor tongue control, reduced laryngeal elevation, and penetration of thin liquids. She ultimately passed away despite hematologic control. USG procedures are increasingly accessible for AC, offering diverse injection approaches and medication dosing. Given the methodological variations in existing studies, a summary of current practices is essential. We conducted a narrative review of recent literature retrieved from computerized databases.

Introduction: Balance is essential for athletic performance. This study compared immersive computer-assisted balance training using the Bertec Balance Advantage CDP/IVR system with traditional soft mat training in young athletes.

Methods: Twenty-two young athletes were randomly assigned to a soft mat group (n = 10) or a Bertec group (n = 12). Both groups completed four training sessions over two weeks.
