The purpose of the life history project is to examine Sandy Hanebrink’s occupational therapy practice and how the profession has evolved at the national level. By completing a literature review, gathering information on the participant, and completing a semi-structured video interview, the researcher was able to analyze the data. The findings from the data emerged into three categories: systematic evolution of the OT profession, personal journey, and influences over the years. This paper is a summary of an interview completed with Dr. Barbara L. Kornblau. Barbara is a licensed occupational therapist and lawyer who was interviewed by two occupational therapy students at the University of North Dakota as a part of a larger life history qualitative study that included 30 total participants. This study was done to gather an understanding of her experience in occupational therapy (OT). The interview was semi-structured and lasted approximately 90 minutes, followed by a transcription and data analysis used to organize the information into twelve codes and six emerging themes. Objective: The purpose of the life history of Dr. Shirley Wells is to gain an insight about her life experiences and leadership throughout her years of work in the profession of occupational therapy.

Method: An in-depth, semi-structured, hour and a half interview was conducted via the telecommunication app, Zoom. The interview was later transcribed verbatim and coded for the emergent categories and corresponding themes.

Background: According to the United States Department of Education (2017), for the 2016-2017 school year, there was an estimated 1,924 students enrolled in public schools in Wyoming experiencing homelessness, with an estimated 295 of these students unaccompanied by a family member or guardian. Purpose: The purpose of this independent study was to explore the current role of occupational therapists working in oncology care and to understand the implications of the referral process for this specific population.

Methodology: A phenomenological research design, derived from Giorgi and Giorgi (2008), was used to implement this study. The researchers interviewed 6 occupational therapists, from a variety of settings, in the Midwest region using a semi-structured interview style.
