The Bench Press is said to be the most important of all upper body exercises (Deaton, Ras, 2019). This exercise incorporates several of the muscles in the upper body and is included in training programs for several different sports and activities. The participants of this study were 30 college males, each with at least 1 year of previous training experience and no previous injuries or disabilities that would impair bench press performance. Hamstring strain injuries (HSIs) are extremely prevalent injuries in the collegiate baseball setting. HSIs require plentiful rest and rehabilitation to regain the normal functions of the injured leg meaning athletes will not be able to participate in competition. Time loss from sport has negative effects on the injured athlete and their team. For these reasons, it is important that athletes receive the best possible treatment to get them back on the field as quickly and safely as possible. This dissertation research explored the experience of partner dancing as a therapeutic process that reflects upon the dynamics and interactions of couples who are in the process of couple's therapy. The research also aimed to gain insight on the ways in which the experience of partner dancing can support these couples' therapeutic processes. Indirect calorimetry provides the average cost of a stride cycle and prevents from identifying which part of the gait cycle causes increased metabolic cost in patients, however, recent simulation methods allow estimating the time profile of metabolic cost within the stride cycle. In this study, we compare the estimations of the time profile of the metabolic cost of two simulation methods for level and uphill walking.
