The implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies holds transformative potential for healthcare delivery in rural and underserved regions. This systematic review focuses on technological, organizational, and ethical barriers. A comprehensive literature search across six major academic databases yielded eleven empirical studies published between 2015 and 2025. The review adhered to PRISMA protocols, with data synthesized using the Synthesis Without Meta- Analysis (SWiM) guidelines. Findings revealed that technological challenges—such as unreliable internet connectivity, lack of device interoperability, and power supply issues—are widespread across rural implementations. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the association between central obesity and hypertension in a cohort study group in Bogor City, West Java from 2011 to 2021. A retrospective cohort study design was employed, with multivariate Cox regression analysis performed using secondary data from the Risk Factors for Non-Communicable Diseases (FRPTM) Cohort Study. Among 3,586 samples, 879 incident cases of hypertension were observed by the end of follow-up, accounting for 24.5% of the at-risk population. Background: U.S. health policy relies on multiple levers to influence system performance, financial stability, and population health. This dissertation uses a three-paper portfolio to evaluate organizational change (hospital acquisitions), payment reform (Maryland all-payer global budgets), and income-related state policies, applying difference-in-differences (DiD) designs with prespecified diagnostics to support causal interpretation.

BACKGROUND: Transitions of care are high-risk periods for patient safety in the emergency department (ED), particularly for patients who are still in the diagnostic process and are discharged with diagnostic uncertainty. Background: Apartheid's structural violence produced profound cardiovascular inequalities among Black South Africans through processes that accelerate biological aging ("weathering") and transmit health disadvantage across successive generations. Whether South Africa's 1994 political transition interrupted this intergenerational transmission remains unknown. This study tests whether parent-to-offspring hypertension transmission weakened among cohorts born after apartheid's end, using the 1994 transition as a natural experiment. Methods: This study analyzed 30,438 parent-offspring dyads from five waves (2008–2017) of South Africa's National Income Dynamics Study, representing 11,655 unique offspring aged 18 years and older. BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) remains a global public health threat. With emerging effective pharmacologic therapies, early identification of significant fibrosis in primary care is critical. We evaluated the cost-effectiveness of blood-based noninvasive tests incorporating real-world diagnostic performance in the contemporary MASLD treatment era.

This study examines how multiple forms of interpersonal violence relate to health outcomes among North Dakotan women, focusing on differences between rural and non rural residents.
