BACKGROUND: Asthma is the most common pediatric chronic disease in the United States and adolescence represents the highest prevalence among all age groups. Transition planning is recommended for all adolescents, especially those with special health care needs (SHCN). Only 17% of adolescents with SHCN receive adequate transition planning.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to implement the Transition Readiness Assessment Questionnaire (TRAQ) for adolescents age 12 years and older with asthma to identify the current level of transition readiness and identify factors associated with readiness.

Objectives: To determine the cause of stillbirth after application of relevant condition at death (ReCoDe) classification system.
Methods: This was a retrospective cross sectional study of 207 women diagnosed with stillbirth after 24 completed weeks of pregnancy at the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Karachi between 1st January 2015 and 31st December 2019. The primary objective was to find the cause of stillbirth according to the new classification of relevant condition at death (ReCoDe).

Background: Parents caring for a child with an acquired disability often report a negative impact on physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual health associated with caregiver burden related to their child’s complex health needs. This is further complicated by additional challenges related to the loss of a previously healthy child. Traditional patterns of loss follow linear, time-bound stages that have been observed to be unrelated to the experiences of these specific parents and their families. Postgraduate programs for PAs provide formal postgraduate training for clinical specialty areas. These programs are intended to provide intense specialty training in various fields, as well as to standardize education beyond the entry level. Problem: An ambulatory pediatric surgical center in the San Francisco Bay Area has an organizational goal of reaching the 85th percentile in NRC patient satisfaction scores. The annual compliance report states the current score is at 80.7 as of September 2021. These NRC findings indicate several areas for improvement including: (1) trust providers with care, (2) care providers listened, (3) was told when could leave, (4) got help as soon as wanted, (5) care provider explain things, (6) NPS: facility would recommend, and (7) procedure began on time.

Healthcare workers have been working in unprecedented circumstances since the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic. Caregivers have been taxed with burnout. A large healthcare organization’s 26-bed, medical-surgical, telemetry, COVID-19 overflow unit was significantly impacted. Many healthcare organizations have adopted advocacy for attaining joy in work as an extra dimension of the Institute for Health Improvement’s Triple Aim. Adding this fourth aim supports averting caregiver burnout (CBO) while promoting joy in work.
