People with diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are commonly prescribed offloading walkers, but inadequate adherence to prescribed use can be a barrier to ulcer healing. This study examined user perspectives of offloading walkers to provide insight on ways to help promote adherence. Participants were randomized to wear: (1) irremovable, (2) removable, or (3) smart removable walkers (smart boot) that provided feedback on adherence and daily walking. Participants completed a 15-item questionnaire based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Spearman correlations assessed associations between TAM ratings with participant characteristics. PURPOSE: To develop and validate a deep learning model for detection of nasogastric tube (NGT) malposition on chest radiographs and assess model impact as a clinical decision support tool for junior physicians to help determine whether feeding can be safely performed in patients (feed/do not feed).

MATERIALS AND METHODS: A neural network ensemble was pretrained on 1 132 142 retrospectively collected (June 2007-August 2019) frontal chest radiographs and further fine-tuned on 7081 chest radiographs labeled by three radiologists. COVID-19 has presented a variety of challenges to the provision of psychology services. In the first month of the pandemic, pediatric consultation-liaison (CL) psychologists reported significant changes in methodology of service delivery (Steinberg et al. in Clin Pract Pediatr Psychol 9:1, 2020). To better understand how and if these changes persisted, as well as other emerging trends, a follow-up study examined changes and challenges six months into the pandemic. BACKGROUND: Cardiovascular implantable electronic device (CIED) infection carries significant morbidity and mortality with bacteremia being a possible marker of device infection. A clinical profile of non-Staphylococcus aureus gram-positive cocci (non-SA GPC) bacteremia in patients with CIED has been limited.

OBJECTIVE: To examine characteristics of patients with CIED who developed non-SA GPC bacteremia and risk of CIED infection.

METHODS: We reviewed all patients with CIED who developed non-SA GPC bacteremia at the Mayo Clinic between 2012 and 2019. The 2019 European Heart Rhythm Association Consensus Document was used to define CIED infection.

Background: Oncology navigation programs have evolved to include services for addressing cancer care barriers, focusing on care coordination, patient experience, and care value, and may include nurses, social workers, and non-licensed trained workers as care navigators. The 2023 Enhancing Oncology Payment Model (EOPM) requires navigation services and emphasizes improving care value and outcomes. Effective healthcare navigation and collaboration can improve value by reducing care duplication, missed appointments, and emergency admissions; identifying and addressing health-related social needs; addressing health inequities; and improving time-to-treatment initiation and patient retention. Keterpaparan informasi narkoba merupakan faktor penting dalam pengetahuan dan perubahan perilaku, terutama untuk melakukan rehabilitasi. Rumah kos merupakan populasi yang dianggap rawan terhadap penyalahgunaan narkoba. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan keterpaparan informasi narkoba dengan perilaku pencarian rehabilitasi pada pengguna narkoba di rumah kos. Analisis regresi logistik ganda digunakan untuk menilai hubungan yang signifikan pada α=0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyalahguna narkoba di rumah kos yang memiliki keterpaparan informasi yang baik memiliki kecenderungan untuk 3,8 kali lebih besar untuk berperilaku mencari rehabilitasi dibandingkan dengan mereka yang keterpaparan informasinya kurang (ORa=3,8; 95% CI=0,7 – 21,5), setelah dikontrol oleh …

Angka prevalensi stunting Provinsi Jawa Barat tahun 2021 sebesar 24,5% dan menjadi salah satu provinsi dengan kategori stunting kronis-akut di Indonesia. Analisis spasial digunakan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat korelasi secara spasial antar wilayah kabupaten/kota di Jawa Barat berdasarkan prevalensi stunting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya autokorelasi spasial positif dan terdapat korelasi secara spasial yang artinya prevalensi stunting di satu wilayah kabupaten/kota berkaitan dengan wilayah disekitarnya. Wilayah yang menjadi hotspot stunting di Jawa Barat tahun 2021 berdasarkan pola kluster yang terbentuk adalah Kabupaten Bandung, Kabupaten Bandung Barat, dan Kota Bandung. BACKGROUND: In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, medical students and residents in the U.S. and globally have gained more exposure to teledermatology, both for the purposes of clinical practice and education.

OBJECTIVE: We conducted a systematic review to assess outcomes from teledermatology interventions for dermatology trainees in the U.S. and globally in accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA).

METHODS: We searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Cochrane CENTRAL for articles written in English and published database inception to November 20, 2022.

The COVID-19 pandemic impacted the conduct of in-person physical activity (PA) interventions among older survivors of BC, who need such interventions to stay active and prevent functional decline. We tested the feasibility of virtually delivering an exergame-based PA intervention to older BC survivors. We enrolled 20 female BC survivors ≥55 years and randomly assigned them to two groups. The intervention group (Pink Warrior 2) received 12 weekly virtual exergame sessions with behavioral coaching, survivorship navigation support, and a Fitbit for self-monitoring. Asthma is an important public health issue in Utah and quality asthma care is essential to addressing the burden of asthma. The purpose of this initiative was to evaluate clinical asthma quality improvement (QI) program delivery formats and identify barriers to sustaining QI processes.

Intervention Approach

The focus of the intervention was to improve clinical asthma care through reducing variation in clinician knowledge about recommended asthma care and facilitating process improvements in asthma care delivery using Academic Detailing (AD) and Learning Collaboratives (LC) QI delivery formats.
