Objective: To analyze the sociodemographic characteristics and bone health among adult consumers of plant-based diets (PBD). Methods: Individuals aged 18 to 75 were invited to complete a self-administered survey via a digital platform. Results: A total of 1151 participants completed the survey; the majority were women [n=958 (83.2%)], young [age (years): 18-25: 35.8%; 26-35: 39.8%, and 36-45: 17.4%] and single (67.1%). The pattern of PBD consumption was mainly represented by veganism (54.0%), followed by lacto-ovo-vegetarianism (27.7%). The primary reason for their dietary choice was animal welfare (83.5%). Forensic Genetics is defined as a field of knowledge that uses both genetic concepts and molecular tools. This is used to resolve cases in which it is desired to identify the identity of people allegedly involved in a criminal act, kinship ties, identification of missing persons, etc. Currently, Forensic Genetics mainly uses molecular markers of the type STRs (short tandem repeats), SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) and insertion/deletion INDELs)(1). Strongyloidiasis commonly causes gastrointestinal problems. We present the case of a male, a 30-year-old cadet in the Peruvian Navy from Lima, who developed a hyperinfection syndrome due to Strongyloides stercoralis, having a presumptive diagnosis of polymyositis for which he received a short cycle of corticosteroids. He was not a carrier of the HTLV 1/2 virus. Upon admission, he presented with hyporexia, generalized weakness, cachexia, intermittent self-limited diarrhea, oral intolerance, and mild abdominal distension. The patient reached the dissemination stage, resulting in severe intestinal damage. The low excretion of larvae in the feces made the diagnosis difficult. Treatment was provided with …

Introduction: Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) are rare mesenchymal neoplasms that, although typically develop in the visceral pleura, occasionally occur in the intracranial cavity. Furthermore, they are characterized by high rates of metastasis and recurrence. Case Report: We present the case of a 59-year-old male patient with a 3-month history of headache and bradyphrenia. Computed tomography revealed a neoformative tumor infiltrating the nasal cavity, ethmoid sinuses, and anterior cranial fossa, involving the left frontal lobe. Thanatophoric dysplasia type 1 is a form of lethal skeletal dysplasia, characterized by axial-appendicular skeletal disproportions as well as short stature, frontal bossing, cloverleaf skull, narrow chest, femoral bowing, and micromelia. These phenotypic characteristics are the result of pathogenic variants in the fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR-3) gene, located on chromosome 4p16.3 For its study, obstetric ultrasound, physical examination and radiographic findings are important. However, the diagnosis must be confirmed by genetic study in order to discover new variants or associations, as well as to reveal its actual casuistry in a certain region.

Objective: To create and validate a family resilience in caregivers relatives of people with disabilities (ERF-PD). Method: The research design is instrumental. The sampling was non probabilistic with a sample of 301 relatives of people with disabilities. Initially, 40 items were created but this number was reduced after the statistics analysis. Results: Aiken’s V values of 1.00 were obtained in all items. After the item analysis, nine items were removed. Objective: To describe the attitudes of doctors towards the approach to diabetic neuropathy. Methods: Descriptive, observational, cross-sectional and prospective study, sample of 143 doctors, non-probabilistic convenience sampling. The variables: years of professional practice, specialty, proportion of patients in the medical consultation with a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (type 1 or 2), proportion of patients with diabetes mellitus with a diagnosis of diabetic neuropathy, attitudes towards the approach to diabetic neuropathy.
