La Barrera Lingüística Del Sistema De Salud Para Los Hispanohablantes En Eeuu, Emma Rose

CURCI Student Research

Economy Smart Watch Fails To Accurately Monitor Blood Glucose Among Healthy Adults, Thinh Le Mr., Douglas Oberlin Dr., Adam Mohan Mr. 2025 CUNY Lehman College

Economy Smart Watch Fails To Accurately Monitor Blood Glucose Among Healthy Adults, Thinh Le Mr., Douglas Oberlin Dr., Adam Mohan Mr.

Undergraduate Research

Monitoring and maintenance of blood glucose (BG) concentrations is of critical importance to individuals with diabetes mellitus. However, this often requires multiple finger-sticks and a glucometer, or the use of a prescription continuous glucose monitor (CGM). Recently, some smart watches have become available which claim to non-invasively monitor BG. This should not be confused with watches that pair with CGMs. The purpose of this study was to assess whether the economy smart watches were capable of detecting BG changes among healthy individuals. Currently three participants have completed this study. Healthy young adults reported to the lab after a 4-6 hour …

Telehealth And Medical Consumerism In The Digital Age, Yibing Hu 2025 University of Arkansas, Fayetteville

Telehealth And Medical Consumerism In The Digital Age, Yibing Hu

Finance Undergraduate Honors Theses

This paper discusses the role of telehealth in medical consumerism. As a cheap and convenient model of healthcare, telehealth enables patients to access healthcare regardless of location, as long as they have the necessary technology.

In the current healthcare landscape, insurance policies and high costs push patients to act as consumers of medical services. With the rise of telehealth as another healthcare option, the medical sector further becomes consumer-oriented. This ultimately changes the way patients interact with healthcare.

Explainable Ai (Xai) For A Machine Learning Heart Disease Prediction Model, Sai Abhishek Sanchula

Electronic Theses, Projects, and Dissertations

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain the leading cause of mortality worldwide, necessitating the development of accurate and interpretable machine learning (ML) models for early diagnosis and risk assessment (World Health Organization, 2021). While ML algorithms such as logistic regression, decision trees, support vector machines (SVM) (Cortes & Vapnik, 1995), and deep learning models (LeCun et al., 2015) have demonstrated high predictive accuracy, their adoption in clinical practice is hindered by their black-box nature (Rudin, 2019). Explainable AI (XAI) techniques, including SHapley Additive Explanations (SHAP) (Lundberg & Lee, 2017), Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations (LIME) (Ribeiro et al., 2016), and feature importance analysis …
