Patient safety culture in a hospital setting is the foundation for all health care activities,with the aim to provide safe and comfortable environment throughout the healing process of the patients. The American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commissions on Cancer (CoC) formulated and implemented standard 3.2 for Psychosocial Distress Screening. This standard requires that all accredited cancer centers evaluate psychosocial distress and provide appropriate triage and intervention for all cancer patients. Over the past decade, Loma Linda University Medical Oncology Center (LLUMOC) administration, physicians, nurses, psychosocial care staff, and chaplaincy collaborated to implement a psychosocial screening and referral program throughout cancer patient services. Journal for Evidence-based Practice in Correctional Health
Objective: To investigate the effects co-payment policies in the correctional health environment on access and utilization of healthcare services, cost-effectiveness of care, and health outcomes. Methodology: A literature search yielded 97 articles, 15 duplicates were eliminated. Thirty-three additional articles not in peer review journals were eliminated; 40 were eliminated because they did not focus on the research question and four were eliminated because they did not adequately present their data. A decision was made to retain the four quantitative studies in the review, and to utilize the single qualitative study to support conclusions and, or the discussion section. The Reporting …

Challenges in the healthcare industry, including nursing shortages and low nursing retention, have resulted in nurses’ job dissatisfaction. Improving work environment and workload can lead to improved and equitable nursing shift assignments, which may improve nursing job satisfaction. The purpose of this EBP project was to (a) implement a patient acuity tool in the hospital unit, (b) assess its effectiveness in appropriating nursing shift assignments, and (c) evaluate its effect on nursing job satisfaction. The Qualitative Report
The purpose of the study is to examine the faculty’s suggestions on how to improve communication at five schools in an academic medical center. The University of Mississippi Medical Center facilitated the administration of the Faculty Forward Engagement Survey by the Association of American Medical Colleges to faculty in the schools of medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, and health related professions. This survey included open-ended questions with narrative responses. On these responses to one question about communication, the authors performed the constant comparative method of grounded theory design, a foundational form of qualitative inquiry.
