The purpose of this study is to understand the at-home medical test market including the medical and regulatory requirements to create at-home medical tests, as well as the market factors that influence consumer adoption in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. To address testing shortages of COVID-19 tests companies created at-home tests which were rapidly approved by the FDA, bringing at-home testing to the forefront.

History of at-home health testing is reviewed, the medical requirements for creating them, and how the pandemic has affected such testing. Tables are also included to demonstrate currently available tests and potential future tests. The …

Rural healthcare leader deficiency in implementing successful strategies to retain nurses can deleteriously impact the quality of patient care and impede the organization's financial performance. Grounded in Herzberg’s two-factor theory, the purpose of this qualitative multiple-case study was to explore successful nurse retention strategies used by rural healthcare leaders. Data were collected from semistructured interviews with eight pastoral healthcare leaders in the eastern region of the United States who improved nurse retention and a review of relevant supporting documentation from company websites. In addition, the U.S. court system has been inundated with individuals facing legal proceedings, with opioid addiction, impacted competency, and recidivism. Background: Medical school academic achievements do not necessarily predict house staff job performance. This study explores a selection mechanism that improves house staff-program fit that enhances the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Milestones performance ratings.

Objective: Traditionally, house staff were selected primarily on medical school academic performance. To improve residency performance outcomes, the Program designed a theory-driven selection tool to assess house staff candidates on their personal values and goals fit with Program values and goals. Background: The Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program (HRRP) is an aspect of Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010. HRRP requires Medicare to reduce payments to hospitals with relatively high readmission rates. While the implementation of the program has been accompanied by reductions in readmission rates, some have expressed concerns about unintended consequences, including harm to patient care and even death. Under HRRP, hospitals serving a high proportion of socioeconomically disadvantaged patients, like public hospitals, have been more likely to receive financial penalties, potentially impeding their ability to invest resources in improving patient outcomes.
