Ame's Rebranding Strategy To Build Brand Identity And Enhance Stronger Competitiveness, Michelle Adelia Sentosa, Aniendya Christianna
International Review of Humanities Studies
This research analyses AME's rebranding process to build a strong brand identity and increase competitiveness in the fashion industry. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results showed that AME's rebranding involved visual design changes as well as adjustments to the brand's vision and mission. The new illustration and packaging elements successfully attracted consumers' attention and created a positive experience, which resulted in increased sales and positive responses from consumers. The findings provide valuable insights into rebranding strategies in the fashion industry and their implications for brand identity and business performance, …

In the digital era, social media has become an important marketing tool for businesses, including the culinary industry. This study examines the use of motion graphics to develop the social media presence of Rarampa Resto and Bar, a restaurant serving Manado cuisine and healthy MSG-free food, located in South Jakarta. Although the restaurant has a loyal customer base, particularly from the 40-60 age group, its social media content fails to attract younger audiences, especially millennials, who seek unique and authentic culinary experiences. This study explores the process of constructing the image of the “ideal wife” in intercultural marriages, using the video Younger Singapore Men Looking for Vietnam Brides as a case study. It analyzes the economic and cultural motivations of Singaporean men in choosing Vietnamese wives. By applying Judith Butler’s theory of gender performativity and Henri Tajfel’s social identity theory, the study examines how Vietnamese brides are symbolized as the “ideal partner” and how this phenomenon reflects modern gender role conflicts and identity reconstruction. China's cultural diplomacy utilizes a range of strategies, including cultural exchange programs, media outreach, and people-to-people interactions, to further its national interests and enhance its international image. The primary aims are to foster a positive perception of China, build mutual understanding and trust with other nations, and expand China's cultural and economic influence. The overseas Chinese community in Southeast Asia has been recognized as a crucial conduit for advancing Chinese cultural policy globally. This study explores the moral ontology of law within the framework of Legal Realism, contextualizing law as both a social institution and an institution of justice. Drawing on Joseph Raz's perspectives on practical reason, normativity, and the foundations of norms, the analysis examines how law, as a practical guide, inherently carries moral dimensions in regulating social interactions and pursuing justice. Legal Realism frames law as a dynamic product of human interaction within a social context, while Raz's philosophical insights illuminate the interplay between practical reasoning, normativity, and legal structures. Lusaka's Colonial Legacy: Town Planning, Public Health, And The Making Of A Segregated City, 1913–1963. A Study Of Power, Inequality, And Urban Development, Wamburakwao J. Sapao
Zambia Social Science Journal
This paper explores the intersection of town planning and public health policy in Lusaka, Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia), during the colonial period (1913–1963), which was a time of significant urban growth and transformation. British colonial authorities adapted Ebenezer Howard's Garden City principles to design and manage Lusaka, but these measures perpetuated spatial control, segregation, and social engineering, thus exacerbating racial and socio-economic disparities. By analysing secondary and primary sources, including planning ordinances, zoning regulations, and public health policies, this study reveals how these measures shaped the city's development and reinforced inequalities. This study investigated the lived experiences of individuals living with HIV (PLWH) in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area of Texas during the COVID-19 pandemic, using an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) framework. The research examined the intersection of health, social dynamics, and psychological resilience among PLWH, who faced compounded vulnerabilities due to systemic inequities and the dual public health crises of HIV and COVID-19. Through semi-structured interviews with ten participants from diverse backgrounds, the study captured the profound impacts of disrupted healthcare systems, heightened stigma, and social isolation on this marginalized population. This study explores the role of social capital in empowering rural women, focusing on how social networks, trust, and community norms contribute to gender equality and women's decision-making. Despite the recognition of gender equality as a fundamental right, rural women continue to face structural barriers that limit their access to resources and opportunities. By examining the interaction between social capital and women's empowerment, this research aims to fill the gap in understanding the mechanisms that support women's empowerment in rural areas. The Scale Question As An Urban Question: The Making Of Homo Urbanicus Amid State Entrepreneurialism, Yong Zhang

This research bridges two influential strands of literature on urban China—state entrepreneurialism and homo urbanicus (城市人). By revisiting how China’s post-reform urban transformation has unfolded and connecting it to current development strategies, this research provides a fresh perspective on the country’s urbanization processes and their implications for future governance. The analysis proposes an alternative periodization of three phases: anti-migration urbanism, anti-settlement urbanism, and anti-civitas urbanism. Beyond understanding urbanization as a crisis-driven, state-rescaling phenomenon pivoting around the blending of state and market forces, this research repositions the concept of homo urbanicus, or the urban citizen, as central to understanding the urban …

In this commentary on Elvin Wyly’s ‘Regarding the Pain of (Indigenous) Others’, I comment on the absent ontology of Asian subjectivities in urban studies of neoliberal global cities. Wyly’s account of neoliberal Vancouver hellscapes frames racial formations and narratives of dispossession as formed by capital. Asian subjectivities, I argue in this commentary, are also flattened by narratives of capital into purely economic subjects, but what Wyly’s reading of Vancouver opens up, I also hope to show, is the possibility of tracing the complex life stories of Asian capitalist characters in Vancouver’s neoliberal hellscape. In this paper, we argue that contextual factors such as availability of infrastructure, socio-cultural characteristics of users, governance style, and the regulatory environment in global south cities creates opportunities for public and private sector actors to come up with innovative strategies to smart city development and the platformization of services. Despite different objectives, operationalization strategies, and expected outcomes between the public and private sectors, both sectors learn from one another to come up with innovative solutions for navigating contextual contingencies. The Militarization of the Urban Space of Rio de Janeiro is the synthesis of different historical processes: The state through massive incarceration of black and racialized people, and the systematic elimination of black poor people from favelas through urban policing operations by security and armed forces, traffic patrols, and paramilitary/vigilante groups. Together, they result in the production of different actors that exert violent territorial domination for economic exploitation and social control.

Are Economic Gender Differences The Same Everywhere? Cross-Societal Comparisons In The Early 21st Century, Joyce P. Jacobsen

Are gender differences in economic outcomes the same everywhere? Using the most recent available data (generally from the 2021–2023 period), I consider the patterns for these gender differences and provide an annotated list of statistical sources for students and researchers to use in exploring these differences. Overall, women still work less than men in paid work, work more than men in unpaid household work, and make less than men; however, these patterns have converged somewhat, with some narrowing of work and pay gaps relative to the last part of the 20th century, and with women rapidly closing the educational-attainment gap …
