Background: The aim of this study was to determine the impact of the control of swimming velocity in real-time with the use of concurrent visual information on the economization of swimming. Methods: The study involved swimmers. During the research, two stress tests were performed, in which subjects swam 200m freestyle. In both trials, the participants’ task was to swim the test distance as closely as possible to an individually pre-established set time. Background: Increasing alcohol consumption by adolescents is a major public health problem. One reason for this is that young people want to solve their difficulties by using alcohol. Therefore, an important aim of the current study is to analyze selected nutrition-related health behaviors which are taken before the planned consumption of alcoholic beverages among young people. Background: The aim of the present study was to evaluate & compare the body fluid level and the total mineral content in trained male and female players of four different sport disciplines. Materials and Methods: 46 archers (M=18 & F=28), 57 track & field athletes (M=26 & F=31), 81 footballers (M=24 & F=57) and 43 gymnasts (M=21 & F=22) were evaluated using a multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analyser. Background: Premenstrual symptoms (PMS) occur very commonly and cause a negative impact on the overall quality of women’s lives. The aim of this study was to assess the PMS symptoms between women who exercise and non-exercising sedentary women. Material/Methods: A total of 220 participants were studied. N=100 exercising group and N=120 non-exercising were selected as participants. The exercising group was selected from women who regularly do aerobic exercise (walk-running) for 3-5 days a week, within a 60 minute time period for each exercise session for 4 months. Current trends in the progress in sports performance have been analysed based on e.g. freestyle swimming. Good life category was investigated in such dimensions as satisfaction with life, resilience, personal values and courage. Each fight can be resolved by an effectively executed attack before the regular time (ippon or double waza-ari) or by a better score for efficient attacks (waza-ari or yuko). Background: The aim of this research was to validate a triaxial GT3X accelerometer against doubly labelled water for measuring total energy expenditure (TEE) in a study of free-living Dutch adults and to compare the two prediction equations used to calculate accelerometer derived activity related energy expenditure. Background: The study discusses the differences in the levels of satisfaction with life (SWL) and a sense of coherence (SOC) in disabled sedentary people, disabled persons performing leisure sports and competitive disabled athletes. Material/Methods: The data were analyzed using analysis of covariance, Pearson-correlation and a linear regression. Results: The results indicate that sport elicits an insignificant increase in SWL and SOC. SOC correlates with SWL in sedentary disabled and competitive disabled athletes. Background: The aim of the study was to determine the preferences in the use of nutritional supplements and the correctness of their selection in training among recreational athletes attending classes at the gym. Material/Methods: A group 169 of recreational athletes was surveyed in "AWF Warszawa" and "Warszawianka" gyms; they were 26.6 years old ±6.48 yrs and had 4 years ±4.57 of training experience. Background: The aim of the study was to determine the effect of specific gymnastics strength training on the quality of technical indicators of gymnastic elements in young gymnasts. Material/Methods: The study involved 24 gymnasts aged 12-13 years (n = 11) and 13-15 (n = 13). Among the participants were the winners and medalists of the Polish Championship competitions. The duration of the gymnasts’ sports training was 5-8 years. Background: The back kick (in taekwon-do terminology referred to as dwit chagi) is considered a powerful weapon in taekwon-do sparring. This paper attempts to identify the kinematic factors affecting the efficiency of the back kick on the basis of values obtained for foot and knee velocities and the duration of the kick. Background: The aim of the research was to establish the types and incidence of motor organ injuries in young volleyball players and to indicate methods of preventing them. Material/Methods: The research was carried out in a population of 70 volleyball players aged 16-19, students of the Sports Championships Schools No. 2 and 3 in Gdansk, players of the Lotos Trefl Gdansk sports club.
