A Development & Testing Project On A New Proposed Method To Produce Technical Documentation For Use In Training & Work Performance By The United States Army, Charles Burleson

The purpose of this study was to examine the development, evaluation, and testing of a technical manual produced by the new United States Army Improved Technical Documentation and Training concept. The concept involved a complete systems analysis of the hardware being considered prior to the actual writing of the manual. The manuals were validated and verified by actual soldiers performing maintenance tasks using only the manuals.

A comparison of the new manual with the old manual was Performed using untrained and trained soldiers.

Conclusions formulated were that the new manual seemed to be a great improvement over the old manual …

Resettlement Problems Of Prisoners-Of-War Of The Japanese In World War Ii And The Chinese Communists In Korea, Allen Hanegan

The readjustment problems that were encountered by the prisoners-of-war (POWs) were caused by their identification problems, the chief aspect of which was their defensive isolationism. These problems produced further difficulties for the individual POW in the behavioral category and for the entire POW group in their underlying distrust of the outside world. These also produced confused reactions, paranoid syndromes, and a lack of participation in military and civilian affairs, and were expressed in the POWs as fearful withdrawal and belligerent negation with anti-social overtones. This collection consists of a microfilm copy of an orderly book kept by Sgt. Erastus Harris of Medway, Mass. Harris recorded orders while at Castle Island (Boston) and Fort Cumberland (Nova Scotia) under the command of Joseph Frye and Brig. Gen. Timothy Ruggles as a member of Frye's regiment of Mass. Provincials during the French and Indian War (1759-60), and while stationed with the 1st Massachusetts Regiment of Guards under the command of Col. Jonathan Reed from Apr.-June 1778.
