Edwin E. Witte was a Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin and Chairman of the Committee on Economic Security, which oversaw the drafting of the original Social Security Act. Witte is generally acknowledged as the principal author of the Social Security legislation as it went to Congress. In later years, he consulted on the National Labor Relations Act and continued to teach and supervise Ph.D. students.

On the 22nd of June 2010 an uncontrolled detonation occurred at [Name of demining group removed] task site DA-SR-3948 in Central Equatoria within the confines of the control point. The detonation fatally injured the team medic and minor injuries were sustained to one of the team deminers’ who was in close proximity to the seat of explosion. The accident occurred on 22 June 2010, 09:30 AM in clearance lane of [the Victim], located in a steep sloping area within the MF. Affirmative action in the transformation process of South African sport aims at balancing the concerns of white sport participants with the aspirations of participants of color. The aims of this study are to determine perceptions of South African sport federations in diversity management and the affirmative action profile of South African sport federations, and to suggest strategies to manage affirmative action. A Likert scale questionnaire evaluated perceptions of 32 sport federations on affirmative action factors. The primary cause of this accident is listed as “Inadequate survey” because there seems to have been confusion about the area that required search. This study was conducted to define the current situation between contracted seasonal workers and farm labor contractors in the Stockton area. Specifically, this study focuses on the perception workers have of farm labor contracted employment. It also addresses the perception farm labor contractors have on the contracting business.

To gather the information needed to compare perceptions, interviews with twelve contracted seasonal workers and two farm labor contractors were conducted in Stockton. The analysis process consists of a detailed account of the problems workers and farm labor contractors encounter in the farm labor contracting business.

The District of Columbia School Choice Incentive Act of 2003, passed by Congress in January 2004, established the first federally funded, private school voucher program in the United States. As part of this legislation, Congress mandated a rigorous evaluation of the impacts of the Program, now called the DC Opportunity Scholarship Program (OSP). This final evaluation report presents the longer term effects of the Program on families who applied and were given the option to move from a public school to a participating private school of their choice.

The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) is generally perceived to be relevant and effective within the mine action sector, although there are some vocal, and potentially significant groups that take a more negative view.

In interviews with attendees at the 13th International Meeting of National Mine Action Programme Directors and UN Advisors, 65% of respondents were positive about the Centre's relevance and 63% about its effectiveness.

Fordham Institute, with the support of the Walton Family Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, published a report showing that charter schools were greatly underfunded compared to traditional district schools in the 2002-03 school year. This report uses FY 2006-07 data, the most recent available when this project began, to describe the state of charter funding, and to see if it has changed since the last report. This is the third-year report in a five-year evaluation of the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP). The MPCP, which began in 1990, provides government-funded vouchers for low-income children to attend private schools in the City of Milwaukee. The maximum voucher amount in 2008-09 was $6,607, and approximately 20,000 children used a voucher to attend either secular or religious private schools. The MPCP is the oldest and largest urban school voucher program in the United States. This evaluation was authorized by Wisconsin Act 125 enacted in 2005.

With the passage of the 2005 Wisconsin Act 125, private schools participating in the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP) have been required to administer annual standardized tests in reading, mathematics, and science to their MPCP students enrolled in the 4th, 8th, and 10th grades. The law further directs Choice schools to submit copies of the scores from those tests to the School Choice Demonstration Project for processing and reporting to the Legislative Audit Bureau. The city of Milwaukee is often called a laboratory for experimentation with parental school choice. Milwaukee is home to the first urban school voucher program, the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP), which has grown over the past 19 years to enroll 19,803 students in 127 different private schools in 2008-09. A total of 59 public charter schools operate within the city’s boundaries, enrolling 17,158 students last year. Even students in the Milwaukee Public School (MPS) system have a variety of magnet, community, open enrollment, and inter-district school choice options available to them, so long as transportation funding holds out.
