Government and general conception on the zakat management in Malaysia has been that unsatisfactory. Many factors can be pointed as the cause of the present state of affairs. Based on the past research, most of the problems were qualitatively analysed from empirical data. This research uses quantitative data in analysing the problems arising from the management of zakat through case study on the payment of zakat paddy in District of Pendang, Kedah. The data shows that the total amount of zakat paddy collected by the administrators is much lower than the amount collected from total crop collection from farmers. This …

Sistem baru ini diperkenalkan, direkabentuk dan dibangunkan setelab mengkaji kelemahan sistem penjadualan perjalanan bas yang sedia ada di Puduraya. Maklumat untuk membangunkan sistem ini dikumpulkan melalui temuramah dengan kakitangan syarikat bas. Maklumnat juga didapati daripada soalan soal selidik yang diberi kepada penumpang di Perhentian Bas Puduraya. The main focus of this charrette -- the stature of urban redevelopment relative to suburban "greenfield" development -- was epitomized by two Cleveland-area newspaper items (see Appendix A). One item announced an $850,000 federal grant to a suburb located at the rural fringe of the Cleveland metropolitan area. The grant from the Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce was for construction of a road that would open 250 acres of virgin land for industrial development.

The purpose of this study is to examine the adequacy of benefits provided by the Employees Provident Fund to its members. A sample of 21,722 members who have attained the age of 54 years and actively contributing to the fund were selected for the study. The study shows that the old age retirement benefit scheme provided by the Employees Provident Fund to its members is grossly inadequate and does not meet to the standard established by the I LO convention No.102 of 1952 on replacement income retirees. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Malaysian Personal Income Tax Policy for the year 1977 - 1997. The areas of concentration are tax burden, poverty level, savings incentives, progressivity index and Inland Revenue Board's objectives. The methodologies to accomplish the mission are regression analysis, mathematical calculation, and index of progressivity. The research concludes that there is no significant relationship to explain any kind of relationship between the tax rates and the poverty level. Another finding shows that Malaysian personal income tax policy seems to be a good policy to induce private savings. Regression analysis, both under the …

This study focuses on time use study to analyse participation of women in the hawking communities in various types of activities. Time use study is able to account for the time female hawkers spent on their daily activities. lt has the added advantage of not requiring the women to interpret what constitutes economic and family activities. Generally, female hawkers are not highly educated. They are mostly involved with selling non-food items. It is found that female hawkers spend long hours on economic activities and family activities. The primary focus of this professional paper is to determine and then compare turnover rates between public agencies and the gaming industry in the Las Vegas area. The paper's intention is to discover what differences and similarities in employee turnover rates exist between public agencies and casinos. A secondary focus is to determine if the public sector can provide any lessons to lower employee turnover to the Las Vegas gaming industry.
