Research has shown that companion animals can have a positive effect on people who suffer from mental and physical illnesses; however, few studies have considered the impact of human-animal interactions (HAIs) on employees in the work environment. This quantitative study investigated the effect of HAIs on 146 employees’ job satisfaction and job performance in three retail environments with a range of potential animal interactions: retail store with no animal presence (none), retail store with occasional animal presence (occasional), and retail store with persistent animal presence (constant). This study examines frontal alpha brain wave asymmetry (FAA) in relation to emotion processing. Previous research has shown that differences between left versus right FAA could exhibit a neurological marker for emotional intelligence (EI), mental health, and stress. Behavioral data were collected using Profile of Emotional Competence Questionnaire, Perceived Stress Questionnaire, Patient Health Questionnaire-9, and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7. Alcohol use disorders can lead to cirrhosis, cancer, domestic violence, and even death (Carvalho, Andre F, et al. 2019). Gender and sexual minorities (GSM; non-cisgender and nonheterosexual individuals) report elevated rates of alcohol use (“Sexual Orientation Differences”, 2013), although nonexclusively-oriented womxn (NOW; womxn-identified people attracted to more than one gender)(womxn - terminology encompassing all women identified individuals; more inclusive for transgender and nonbinary individuals) in particular report higher rates of alcohol misuse. Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is currently the neurodevelopmental disorder most commonly diagnosed in children in the United States, and one of the defining characteristics of ADHD is inattention. Inattention is marked by increased lapses in attention, and when assessed clinically, it has been highly correlated with reaction-time variability (RTV). Evidence from the human/clinical literature has shown an inherently higher RTV to be the primary quantitative indicator of an ADHD diagnosis. The number of opioid overdoses (ODs) has risen in recent years and has become more complex due to the co-involvement of both prescription and illicit opioid drug use. Provisional programs for take-home naloxone (a medication designed to rapidly reverse opiate OD symptoms) kits have been distributed to combat this potentially fatal epidemic. Although there is strong evidence to support the efficacy of naloxone in the reversal of opiate OD, there is limited evidence to support the efficacy of take-home naloxone (THN) kits. งานวิจัยนี้มีจุดประสงค์ในการศึกษาวิจัยเพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างบรรยากาศองค์การและความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงองค์การ โดยมีความคล่องตัวของพนักงานเป็นตัวแปรกำกับ ผู้เข้าร่วมการวิจัยในครั้งนี้คือ พนักงานปฎิบัติงานในกลุ่มธุรกิจธนาคารพาณิชย์ของไทยสาขาต่าง ๆ ในกรุงเทพมหานครทั้งหมด 5 องค์การ โดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมการวิจัยทั้งสิ้น 306 คน เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลผ่านแบบสอบถามออนไลน์ และทำการวิเคราะห์สมมติฐานด้วยการทดสอบตัวแปรกำกับ ผ่านการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุเชิงชั้นในโปรแกรม SPSS ซึ่งผลการวิจัยในครั้งนี้พบว่า บรรยากาศองค์การด้านมนุษยสัมพันธ์ และด้านระบบเปิดมีความสัมพันธ์ทางบวกกับความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงองค์การในบางด้าน ในขณะที่ด้านกระบวนการภายในมีความสัมพันธ์ทางลบกับความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงองค์การบางด้าน ส่วนด้านการกำหนดเป้าหมายอย่างมีเหตุผลพบว่าไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงองค์การแต่อย่างใด นอกจากนี้สำหรับบทบาทการเป็นตัวแปรกำกับของความคล่องตัวของพนักงานพบว่า ความสามารถเชิงรุกเป็นตัวแปรกำกับทางบวกในความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างบรรยากาศองค์การด้านมนุษยสัมพันธ์และความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงองค์การในบางด้าน ส่วนความยืดหยุ่นเป็นตัวแปรกำกับทางบวกในความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างบรรยากาศองค์การด้านระบบเปิดและความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงองค์การในบางด้าน และความคล่องตัวของพนักงานทั้งด้านความสามารถเชิงรุก การปรับตัว และความยืดหยุ่นก็ยังเป็นตัวแปรกำกับที่ช่วยลดความสัมพันธ์ทางลบระหว่างบรรยากาศองค์การด้านกระบวนการภายในและความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงองค์การในบางด้านอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติอีกด้วย กล่าวคือพนักงานที่มีความคล่องตัวในระดับสูง มีแนวโน้มที่จะมีความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงองค์การสูงกว่าพนักงานที่มีความคล่องตัวในระดับต่ำ ดังนั้นความคล่องตัวของพนักงานจึงถือเป็นปัจจัยที่มีความสำคัญต่อความพร้อมต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงองค์การเช่นกัน

Most research on religion supports its efficacy in improving mental health, yet minimal research has been conducted on religion’s influence on grief specific to those who have lost someone to suicide (i.e., the suicide-bereaved). Psychological inflexibility has also been associated with poorer grief and mental health outcomes. The present study investigated the quality of life of 75 maternal caregivers rearing at least one child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a single-parent, coupled, or extended family (multi-adult) household. The purpose was to explore how rearing a child with ASD impacts maternal caregivers’ quality of life within different family dynamics and household structures. Quantitative measures, including surveys, were used for data collection. The results revealed personal life challenges, couples’ satisfaction, and perceptions of maternal caregivers’ while rearing at least one child with ASD within the physical health, psychological, social relationships, and environmental domains of their quality of life.

Student’s implicit theories of intelligence within higher education influences their academic performance. A two-part study was conducted to assess educator’s implicit theory of intelligence within high academia. Participants in Study 1 included instructors within higher education institutions who have been administered a Google survey inquiring about their teaching pedagogies, personal characteristics, and demographic. The teacher-student relationship is an important dynamic in student engagement. Higher education retention strategies include the teacher-student relationship as a focus. The present study focused on the attachment style of the teacher and the impact that it has on student engagement. The theoretical basis for this study was Bowlby’s attachment theory. Student engagement, both behavioral and academic, was measured after 9 weeks of a semester in general education classes. A quantitative design was used to determine the relationship between the teacher’s attachment style and student engagement. AbstractPolice officers were some of the first responders to the World Trade Center bombings on September 11, 2001. Longitudinal studies have revealed that some New York City (NYC) police officers were better able to cope than others, yet the long-term effects of officers’ coping strategies are unknown. The purpose of this qualitative, phenomenological study was to explore the coping strategies used by NYC police officers during 9/11 and how these police officers continue to cope with their experiences today.
