Because of the importance of drug addiction this thesis will consider the problem of narcotics in the United States medically, sociologically, and psychologically and will offer possible solutions through education, legislation, and medicine. Other works on this subject are: "The Opium Problem", by Dr. Charles E. Terry and Mildred Pellens, and the many pamphlets published yearly by the Narcotics Bureau of the Treasury Department from 1929 to 1937.
