هدفت الدراسة إلى بيان انعكاس العوامل السياسية في تشكيل الاتجاهات السياسية لدى المواطنين نحو الهوية الوطنية الأردنية، واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، والمنهج الإحصائي التحليلي في تحليل وتفسير أجوبة الأقسام الثلاثة للاستبانة، وزعت الاستبانة إلكترونياً واستخدمت طريقة العينة العشوائية البسيطة للوصول إلى الأفراد الذين لا تقل أعمارهم عن (18) سنة، حيث اشتملت الدراسة على عينة مكونة من (500) مبحوث. وخلصت الدراسة إلى وجود اتجاه سياسي سلبي لدى المواطن نحو الهوية الوطنية الأردنية ضمن إطار تأثير العوامل السياسية. حيث العوامل السياسة الخارجية هي الأكثر تأثيراً على الاتجاهات السياسية لدى المواطن نحو الهوية الوطنية الأردنية، ثم جاء انعكاس السياسية الأردنية الخارجية …

The United States Of Religiosity: The Influence Of Religious Identity On Public Policy Preference, Brandon Michael Johnson

Religion has been linked to both voting behavior and political party preference, however, little research has been dedicated to religious identities influence on public policy preference nor the reasons behind policies supported. This study uses robust linear and ordinal regression and discovers a link between religious identity and non-religious policy but finds no significant connection between morally charged policies and religious identity. Furthermore, this study discovers religious components such as organizational structure and scriptural approach show to be more influential towards policy preference than religious belief.

Objective: This study explores the motivations and justifications driving Palestinian sports fans to watch the 2022 FIFA World Cup and support specific national teams. The objective is to understand the underlying factors that contribute to their engagement with this global sports event. Methods: The study targeted 732 residents of Nablus Governorate with a primary interest in watching football matches on television. A five-point Likert scale was used to assess Palestinian fandom preferences concerning the FIFA World Cup 2022, covering demographic information and reasons motivating Palestinians to watch the World Cup. Human populations are migrating as a result of climate change. We conducted a systematic literature review examining the relationship between several climate hazards and migration flows. We reviewed 58 empirical studies between 2010 and 2023 that examined current and future migration related to acute and long-term climate hazards. The results indicate that the relationship between climate hazards and migration is diverse and depends on a range of socio-economic factors. Droughts and rising temperatures have a major impact on both international and domestic migration. Our review also reveals that multiple climate hazards collectively tend to intensify domestic migration toward urban areas, …

Penelitian ini mengkaji persepsi mahasiswa Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan tentang politik uang dalam konteks Pemilu 2024, dengan fokus pada analisis nilai moral dan integritas. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini melibatkan wawancara mendalam dengan 56 mahasiswa yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki persepsi kritis terhadap praktik politik uang, memandangnya sebagai ancaman serius terhadap integritas demokrasi. Mereka mengidentifikasi dampak negatif politik uang terhadap kepercayaan publik, partisipasi politik, dan kesetaraan ekonomi-politik. The link between climate change and conflict has become a topic of great concern in politics and academia. While existing literature has suggested a relationship between resource scarcity and conflict, innovative methods offer an opportunity to clarify causal paths. This study aims to build on the existing literature and parse integral components of the causal pathway linking climate events to conflict, with a particular focus on economic scarcity. This project seeks to fill a gap in the regime classification literature on how to approach one-party dominant states. Historically, these states have been difficult to classify with numerous scholars expressing struggles in approaching these cases. Using the level electoral playing field, this study proposes a new meso-level classification scheme to create clearer regime classification for one-party dominant states. It uses three cases studies of current one-party dominant states to see if any of these regimes can realistically be considered democratic. Open skies and deregulated airspace facilitate the seamless global transportation of people and property across borders. The closure of airspace to a particular country negatively impacts both the sender and target. The sender faces reduced revenue from loss of overflight fees and associated airline costs, while a target must reroute, increasing travel time and fuel requirements for the flight. Despite the substantial costs involved, airspace closures still occur. Using a three-case study analysis, this dissertation explores the factors that drive a country to close its airspace, as well as those that shape a target’s behavior when confronted with a closure. …

Polarization is increasingly impacting Extension’s work in communities. Extension has untapped potential to address division and lack of civility by building civic infrastructure and skills for constructive dialogue. We describe a pilot program that began as a one-off event and grew into a series organized by University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension in partnership with Braver Angels, a national organization applying research-based skills to building bridges. We report on the series structure and content, its goals, and the impacts on participants. We suggest that Extension has the mission, capacity, opportunity, and responsibility to engage in skill-building for Public Issues Education.

This paper is a comparative study of three contemporary cases of self-defense in the context of mass atrocity. I define self-defense as violence deployed by armed groups as non-state or quasi-state actors to preserve life and social group integrity. This definition acknowledges power relations as complex and violence as multidirectional. Actors include informal defenders, civilians, military actors each overlapping with varying interests. The original goal was provision of a safe space where the founders could help women confronting the harshness of the asylum system alone and afraid, as they had been.
