This study discusses the implementation of Indonesia’s free and active foreign policy under President Prabowo Subianto concerning the Palestinian issue and its implications for Indonesia’s global role. The principle of Indonesia’s free and active foreign policy serves as the foundation for determining the direction of its foreign policy, particularly regarding the Israel–Palestine conflict. This research employs a qualitative method using Rosenau’s Foreign Policy Analysis theory to analyze the domestic and international factors influencing Indonesia’s foreign policy decisions, and interviews with experts. The article explores how Indonesian Muslim-based parties are structurally responding to, and using, post-2014 polarization in coalition politics through party institutionalization. Party institutionalization is understood as the mediator that shapes how polarization results in coalition formation, internal organizational dynamics, and electoral performance. A comparative case study of PKB, PKS, PAN, and PPP is covered here, based on interviews with party elites and activists for Islamic organizations, along with secondary sources, electoral reports, and media coverage. This paper provides an exhaustive examination of the theoretical foundations of Ho Chi Minh’s thought regarding gender equality and its institutionalization within the political fabric of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Focusing on the contemporary period (2021–2026), the analysis evaluates the efficacy of the Vietnamese model of State Feminism in achieving descriptive and substantive representation for women in legislative and executive bodies. This paper examines how digitally mediated dissent is securitised in hybrid regimes using Kenya's 2024-2025 protest cycle as a case study. Although the Copenhagen School gives precedence to audience acceptance in determining the success or failure of a securitising move, the paper critiques this viewpoint drawing on contemporary securitisation scholarship. This study analyzes the conceptualization and practice of community-based tourism empowerment on Bangka Island, serving as a strategic approach to promote sustainable and inclusive coastal tourism. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered through interviews with nine key informants, observations, and policy document analysis. Findings reveal that these empowerment initiatives significantly strengthen individual and institutional capacities, enhance community participation in tourism planning, and drive economic diversification from extractive industries to sustainable tourism. Factionalization in Indonesian political parties is commonly explained by elite rivalry, coalition choices, or clientelistic interests, leaving intra-party conflict over the meaning of ideology less well explained. This article asks how the discourse of an open party constructs and reveals ideological contestation within Jemaah Tarbiyah and how that contestation contributed to the emergence of the Gelora Indonesia Party. This article investigates the weakening of legislative oversight by The House of (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat, DPR) during President Joko Widodo’s tenure from 2014 to 2024. Despite the expanded constitutional authority granted to the DPR following the 1998 political reforms, the quality of oversight function has diminished markedly in the Jokowi era. Drawing on theoretical and empirical literature, the article argues that this erosion is not solely the result of institutional shortcomings or inadequate reform, but is primarily driven by pervasive clientelistic relationships between the president and party elites. This article investigates the utilization of E-Government applications within the framework of network governance in Indonesia’s local administration. Drawing on both qualitative and quantitative methods, this study captures public perceptions of electronic information-based government services and explores the political and institutional dynamics underlying their implementation. Data were collected through questionnaires, document analysis, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGDs) with purposively selected informants, including leaders and staff from local government institutions. This study examines religious polarization in North Maluku, proposing moderated identity politics and a hybrid representation model to explain post-conflict electoral behavior. It highlights local leaders who strategically balance identity appeals with cross-group alliances, integrating structural and agential factors to advance electoral theory and offer a replicable model for mitigating identity-based conflict in plural Indonesian regions. Using a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design, quantitative data were first collected from 100 proportionally sampled respondents. Subsequently, in-depth qualitative interviews were conducted with 17 key informants. This study investigates student activism in post-authoritarian Indonesia, focusing on the interplay between higher education reform, movement dynamics, and evolving political narratives over the past decade. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, we surveyed 497 undergraduates from social and political science faculties at 26 Indonesian universities and supplemented our analysis with a document review of student movements from 1999 to 2021. The study examines the transformation of Indonesia’s higher education system, the defining characteristics of contemporary student activism, and the predominant socio-political issues driving post-authoritarian student movements. Declining yields, land limitations, and restrictive conservation policies have created complex tensions related to resource access and survival strategies. This study critiques the phenomenon of surveillance capitalism in the digital era, focusing on its impact on digital democracy or e-democracy in Indonesia. Drawing from Shoshana Zuboff’s framework, surveillance capitalism leverages human behavioural data as raw material for commercial predictions, threatening privacy, fostering polarization, and weakening the digital public sphere. This study explores the political entrepreneurship ethics of village heads in setting village development policies and the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study applies a qualitative methodology and observational analysis method with the interview as the main data-gathering technique, discovering musyawarah (deliberation), obedience to regulation, transparency and participation, empathy, priority scale, and Islamic teachings as the principles held by village heads in policy-making. Human trafficking is a transnational crime that requires comprehensive handling by various parties, including immigration authorities. This study aims to analyze the role of immigration in addressing human trafficking crimes, focusing on cases involving Indonesia as the country of origin and Cambodia as the destination. The research employs a juridical-empirical approach with a case study method, utilizing data from official documents, interviews with immigration officers, and policy analysis. This research explores the phenomenon of empty boxes and millennial participation in the 2024 Lampung Provincial Election. It highlights the constitutional concern of single-candidate elections, where a win means no competition, but an empty box win results in a government-appointed leader. This issue follows the Constitutional Court Decision Number 60/2024, which eased candidacy requirements. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data was gathered through interviews and FGDs. The findings show that millennials dominated the 2024 Lampung voter list, making up 55% or 3,641,169 of 6,515,869 total voters. Less than 25% of seats in Indonesia’s House of Representatives are held by women politicians. While studies have explored the topic of women in Indonesian politics, this article adopts a unique approach by examining the use of social media as a political marketing tool by women politicians in Indonesia during the 2024 pre-presidential election period.
