For a Whiteheadian such as me, Steven Goldberg's Seduced by Science: How American Religion Has Lost Its Way starts with some correct and some incorrect premises and ends, not surprisingly, with some apposite and some inapposite conclusions. The burden of Goldberg's book is to argue that American religion, rather than making the distinctive contribution to American political and social life that it can and should, has instead been derailed into addressing questions on the terms of and with the language or methods of modern science. This chapter embraces the strategic use of the Internet for achieving new forms of transparency and participation in the regulatory cooperation process. It explores ‘the challenges of globally accessible process’ through the use of new information technologies. It holds that the incorporation of these technologies in agency processes at the US federal level has created possibilities for the most transparent, participatory, and broadly deliberative regulatory system in the world to become still more so. We should not ignore or make light of injustices such as slavery, segregation, Eurocentric immigration policies, and social and economic discrimination that have played a major part in our history. The primary purpose of this study is to determine the voting patterns in the minority communities during important elections. A secondary component ofthis study analyzes the voting practices of Blacks in East Baton Rouge parish. TIle population will be voters in the precinct located in East Baton Rouge. Participants in this study must be a registered voter residing in the precincts of the East Baton Rouge parish. The use of Microsoft Excel made it possible to determine the voting trends of the black population.

Much has been written recently about the emergence of evangelicals and others often labeled the "new Religious Right" in American politics. However, little attention has been paid to whether officials who have been socialized in the denominations characterized as being part of this Religious Right actually behave differently in office from those brought up in other religious traditions. The present study begins such an inquiry by examining differences in the voting behavior of state supreme court justices in three issue areas.
