US Government Documents Related to Indigenous Nations

This court case, decided on August 28, 1996, presented the problem of tribal council authority to enter the tribe into binding contracts. The disputing parties in this case entered a contract for co-operation of casino activities at Four Bears Motor Lodge while Wilbur Wilkinson was part of the Tribal Council. When the council changed leadership, the validity of the contract between Bruce Lien Co. and the Three Affiliated Tribes was challenged by the new leadership who alleged that Wilkinson did not have the authority to bind the Three Affiliated Tribes to the contract. Johann Victor Bredt And German Party Politics: From Empire To Republic To Dictatorship, 1912 To 1933, John Michael Katz

All Master's Theses

This thesis traces the political career of Johann Victor Bredt from its beginning in Imperial Germany to its close in the Weimar Republic. Bredt was a professor of constitutional law and national economy who attained prominence as a representative of middle-class business interests and, in 1930, served as Minister of Justice with Germany's last democratic government. Bredt's political career ended with Adolf Hitler's assumption of power. Bredt's memoirs, selected publications, government documents, and memoirs of some of his contemporaries, as well as English and German secondary sources on German society all shed light on the life of this political figure. …

This collection consists of the papers of Billy Lee Evans from 1977-1982. The papers include correspondence, legislative files, clippings, videotapes (1977-1980), and audiotapes documenting Evans' activities as a U.S. Representative from Georgia's 8th District. The materials include information on legislation before Congress, topics of interest to Evans or his constituents, and Evans' service on the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary, particularly its oversight hearings on personal bankruptcy.
