This study examines how pro-caliphate and anti-democratic narratives are articulated and normalised within YouTube comment spaces in Indonesia. As the world’s largest Muslim-majority country with high levels of digital engagement, Indonesia provides an important context for analysing how political-religious discourses circulate through everyday digital interaction. The research analyses 1,354 YouTube comments related to the caliphate, governance, and democracy. Data were collected using Google Apps Script, manually filtered for relevance, and examined through qualitative content analysis informed by Social Network Theory (SNT) and the Radicalisation Factor Model (RFM). This study examines the phenomenon of Malaysia's orangutan diplomacy as part of public diplomacy and cultural diplomacy in the face of international pressure on the palm oil industry, particularly from the European Union. Inspired by animal diplomacy practices such as China's panda diplomacy, Malaysia in 2024 initiated a plan to make the orangutan a diplomatic symbol to build a positive image and strengthen trade relations with partner countries. This study aims to determine the concrete development and implementation of blue economy programs in the future by examining Indonesia's role in the context of international political economy, particularly through maritime diplomacy and cross-regional cooperation such as ASEAN, the Indonesia-Latin America and Caribbean Business Forum INA-LAC, and the Alliance of Island States AIS. Using a constructivist approach, this study concludes that Indonesia, as a middle-power country, utilises soft resources, such as maritime identity, sustainability values, and diplomatic leadership, to strengthen its position in global blue economy governance. The Israel–Egypt border functions not merely as a geographic demarcation, but as a social, political, and cultural space imbued with symbolic meaning. Since its establishment in 1906 up to the construction of Project Hourglass in 2010, this border has shifted from a colonial administrative line to a fragile symbol of peace and a site of global securitization. This study employs a qualitative approach based on literature review and representational analysis, drawing on Stuart Hall’s representation theory as well as David Newman and Anssi Paasi’s concepts of borders in area studies.
