In Fortführung der Forschungsreisen der russischen Floristen und Pflanzengeouraphen im vorigen und Anfang dieses Jahrhunderts wurden erste Expeditionen zur systematischen Erforschung der Naturressourcen der Mongolei in den 20er und 30er Jahren durchgeführt. Sie wurden von der Akademie der Wissenschaften der UdSSR und der Akademie der Wissenschaften der MVR (vorher Wissenschaftliches Komitee der MVR) organisiert. Auch die von der Geographischen GeselIschaft und der Akademie der Wissenschaften der UdSSR durchgeführten Expeditionen zur Erforschung der natürlichen Bedingungen und der Landwirtschaft in der Mongolei schufen Möglichkeiten zur Entwicklung der geobotanischen Forschungsrichtung (vgl. GUBANOV u. HILBIG 1989).

The problems pertaining to the reception of English law in Singapore are both numerous and complex. The academic literature generated in the local sphere alone is relatively large. It must, however, be conceded that, from apractical point of view, there has been very little interest or at least discussion. One cannot, of course, be sure about this observation, save for the very strong indication that takes the form of the overwhelming lack of litigation in the area, thus rendering it merely (so it appears) an academic monopoly. In Singapore, extensive government intervention in the housing market has resulted in much deviation from assumptions made in the simple neoclassical urban models. The monocentric model of urban structure is extended to incorporate a subsidized public housing market in which the government-determined price gradient is flatter than the private housing price gradients. The propositionthat the utility of public housing households varies inversely with residential location distance from the CBD is empirically tested by estimating net returns to public housing using resale market data. It was found that net returns decreased with distance from the CBD.

After the military massacre in Tiananmen Square on 4 June it came as no surprise that the nominated 'rioters and counter revolutionaries' would soon be paraded before the courts. Even in the People's Republic of China, where a formal criminal court structure is a comparatively recent addition to the social control framework, the trial process is being employed as an immediate state response to community disjuncture and political challenge.

This article, as its title suggests, surveys the historical background to the major criminal enactments of Singapore. As a subsidiary function, it also attempts to illustrate the possible ideology underlying the enactment of one particular statute, viz., the Penal Code - a possibility that might point the way toward broader conclusions as well as studies encompassing the role and function of the law in colonial Singapore from a more general point of view.

This thesis addresses the question, why does U.S. foreign policy contribute to political instability in developing nations? To ascertain the answer, it analyzes the post-World War II administrations from Truman through Johnson. One mode of containment, cliency, a foreign policy relationship between a major power and a weaker state, is developed within the framework analyzing containment. The cliency model provides a theoretical basis for explaining how the domestic structure of the client state is systematically distorted by the patron's actions in pursuit of its global interests. The 1982 Third United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea provides only broad guidelines for many matters. One such area is in the provision of enforcement rights to the coastal State in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ). Thus, the specifics have to be worked out by the concerned nations in their domestic legislation. This expansive latitude may occasion the lack of uniformity in coastal States' EEZ laws and regulations. These different legislation may foster incompatible enforcement policies on the part of the coastal States which in turn may cause international friction. Es wurde der Gehalt an Flavonoiden und Kumarinen von 250 Pflanzenarten, die zu 38 Gattungen, 35 Familien der Flora der \ MVR gehören. untersucht. Bei 50 Arten der Familien Asteraceae, Fabaceae, Lamiaceae wurde ein beträchtlicher Gehalt an Flavoiden festgestellt. Kumarine sind für 60 Arten (17 Familien) nachgewiesen. Ausführlich wurde die Zusammensetzung der Flavonoidc für einzelne Arten der Familie Asteraceae und die der Kumarine für Arten der Familie .Apiaceae untersucht. Es wurden für die Gewinnung biologisch aktiver Flavonoide und Kumarine aussichtsreiche Pflanzenarten gefunden, die die Grundlage für die Herstellung originaler Arzneimittel von einem breiten Wirkungsspektrum bilden können.

Zu den Beifufjarten der MVR zählen 65 Arten, darunter 5 endemische und 7 subelldemische. ::>ie Arten gehören zu 3 Untergattungen: Artemisia (39 Arten), Dracullculus (BESS.) PETERM. (19 Arten) und Seriphidium (BESS.) PETERM. (7 Arten).

Es wird auf die Unterscheidungsmerkmale von 19 Arten der Untergattung Dracunculus eingegangen, die besonders grolje Schwierigkeiten bei der Bestimmung bereiten. Im Grad des Endemismus spiegelt sich die Eigentümlichkeit und die Eigenart der Flora iedes Landes und in der Zusammensetzung der Endemiten das Alter dieser Flora sowie ihre verwandtschaftlichen Beziehungen und ihre Entstehung wider. Besonders anschaulich kommen die verwandtschaftlichen Beziehungen der Flora eines Landes zu den Floren der angrenzenden Territorien zum Vorschein, wenn man die Angaben analysiert die die Subendemiten betreffen.
