Desert ecosystems are among the most climate-sensitive environments on Earth, where rising temperatures, altered precipitation regimes, and increasing aridity threaten ecosystem stability, biodiversity, and ecological functioning. Despite covering more than one-third of the global land surface, a comprehensive understanding of how climate change affects desert ecosystem resilience and the effectiveness of adaptation strategies remains limited. This study conducted a systematic review following the PRISMA framework to evaluate the impacts of climate change on desert ecosystem resilience and to identify effective adaptation and restoration pathways. This study addresses the critical gap in tsunami disaster mitigation education and the lack of interactive, contextually field-based disaster education media. It develops and evaluates a tsunami preparedness medium using a Marker-Based Augmented Reality (MBAR) approach, specifically tailored to the tsunami risk profile of Karangbolong Village, Kebumen Regency, Indonesia. Methodologically, the study integrates three frameworks: a disaster literacy model (knowledge, skills, attitudes), a disaster literacy continuum (basic to critical), and the UNESCO-IOC Tsunami Ready 12-indicator framework, combining them into a single instructional product developed through the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC). This study aims to analyze the relationship between community knowledge, attitudes, and positive–negative perceptions toward the willingness to participate in the development of karst caves in Rongkop, Gunung Kidul, as a geosite. This area possesses unique geological potential but is threatened by limestone quarrying, making conservation initiatives urgent. Primary data were collected through interviews with 60 respondents selected via simple random sampling and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. Mining and burning of coal release various toxic substances that can contaminate both surface and groundwater, thereby posing significant risks to human health, especially for households located near mines, coal deposits, or coal-fired power stations. This research examines the environmental effects of coal mining in the Harnoi Region of Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Four mining sites were randomly selected within the study area, and eight coal samples were collected and analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometry to determine the concentrations of trace and heavy metals. Flash floods are especially hazardous hydrological phenomena, noted for their abrupt occurrence and capacity to inflict severe damage on infrastructure, farmlands, and residential zones, often leading to substantial socio-economic upheaval and fatalities. A flash flood struck the Upper Brantas watershed on November 4, 2021, at 14:00, precipitated by intense rainfall over a short duration, leading to significant hydrological impacts. The event manifested at six critical points within Batu City, with Sambong Hamlet and Beru Hamlet experiencing severe inundation. The research investigates land cover and land use change trends in Bichi, Kano State, Nigeria, between 2003 and 2023, with a focus on the impacts of agricultural expansion and urbanization. Google Earth Pro's high-resolution satellite imagery was used to assess trends in agricultural land, forest cover, and settlement areas. The findings reveal a drastic reduction in agricultural land from 60 hectares in 2003 to 40 hectares in 2023 and the decline of forest cover from 30 hectares to 20 hectares. This study aims to determine the environmental characteristics in coastal areas and determine the groundwater conservation zone model in coastal regions. The research was conducted in Parangtritis Village, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. The data includes aquifer types, aeration zone materials, and groundwater depth. The data was processed and analysed using Arc GIS Pro software version 2.5. The data were processed by plotting and spatial interpolation techniques to produce thematic maps of environmental characteristics, namely aquifer-type maps, aeration zone material maps, groundwater depth maps, and land use maps. This study aims to determine students' level of preparedness for flood disasters and the efforts made by schools in dealing with flood disasters.
