This Course-Linked Capstone in Training focuses on intercultural competency development, both of the practitioner’s own life journey and through the lens of study abroad, highlighting a Case Study with SIT Study Abroad in Morocco. This Capstone weaves together theory and practice of intercultural competence, experiential learning, social justice training, and study abroad. The practitioner’s self-analysis includes reflection of her Practicum time, as well as a timeline of her intercultural competency development, including growth areas in five categories: knowledge, skills, attitudes, awareness and language. Revisiting Image Of The City In Cyberspace: Analysis Of Spatial Twitter Messages During A Special Event, Junfeng Jiao, Michael Holmes, Greg P. Griffin

This research investigated people’s communication of urban space as reflected in Twitter messages (tweets) during the 2012 Super Bowl. The authors archived over 600,000 tweets related to the Super Bowl from January 23 through early February 6. The authors identified 78 Indianapolis-area places or routes named in the tweets. Based on occurrence of these terms, the authors retained 9,103 city-specific messages for analysis. The frequency of such tweets changed over the two-week period and peaked two days before game day. “Athabasca River Glacial Melt Global Warming Blues” is a poem and photograph by Gene Hyde, a writer, photographer, and archivist living in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. This is part of his PhotoEpigraphic51 series that combines a photograph, an epigraph, and a 51 syllable, three haiku verse structure. The photograph was taken in September 2017 along the Athabasca River in Jasper National Park.
