Reform of state institutions is a gateway to a country's progress and development. This research seeks to answer the following questions: 'to what extent do institutions, such as water, basic education and primary healthcare institutions, conform to good governance standards in Egypt?' and secondly, 'how can good governance offer a new perspective for institutional reform in Egypt?'. Good Governance And Anti-Corruption: Conceptualization And Measurements, Yasmin Khodary

This study critically presents the various measurements and methodologies of governance and anti-corruption. It also tracks the governance and anti-corruption levels in Egypt and analyses the latest data available until 2015. In doing that, the study does not only refer to the international measurements but also to regional and national ones. These measurements include the World Governance Indicators, the Global Integrity Index, Freedom House, the Global Corruption Barometer, the Corruption Perceptions Index/CPI, Ibrahim Index of African Governance, and the Governance Indexes in health, education, water, and sanitation sectors.

The consumption of dog meat has been a common practice in the past few decades and a symbol for certain groups all around the world. Dogs Are Not Food (DANF) is a new social movement aimed to ban dog meat consumption, initiated by several animal rights organizations in Indonesia. The campaign seems to be self-contradictory: why ban the consumption of dog meat while still allowing the consumption of meat from other animals? This article aims to explain the poverty in Flores by using a political economy perspective. Through qualitative research method by literature review, this article argues that poverty in the region is caused by the accumulation by dispossession through three main areas, namely the long colonial history, agrarian inequality, and the de- politicization of the masses. The long history of colonization has led to the change of the system of administration and the agrarian structure for the sake of the accumulation by dispossession. This article discusses the resistance in local societies against mining corporate. This study focuses on conflict approach which is seen if it can be a social movement or not. This study uses the qualitative approach with case study held in Nagari III Koto, West Sumatera. This article shows us that there are seven variables which being the cause of resistance. This article discusses the correlation between peer group pressure and eating disorder behavior symptoms in Jakarta Senior High School students. Many of studies talk about it, but the discussion about eating disorder behavior on sociology was rarely found. Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences
The 2015 presidential election cycle in Tanzania featured social media networks in electoral campaigning. Citizen and party campaigners emerged and used Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and WhatsApp mobile instant-messaging application to recruit and mobilise voters. This article attempts to examine the most recent explosion of citizen and party election campaigners on Facebook. The analysis focuses on their engagement with Facebook campaigns, and whether the use of this social media platform amplified the promotion of presidential candidates. The findings indicate that some presidential candidates were hardly visible on Facebook and could not get citizen and party campaign-initiated support. Some were actively …

A Comparative Study Of Headedness In Ruhaya Compounds, Emmanuel Ilonga Dr
Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences
This paper presents endocentric and exocentric compounds in Ruhaya, with specific focus on their lexical properties, position of headwords, semantic relation between headwords and modifiers, and the semantic classification of noun-noun compounds. It offers a comparison between Ruhaya and other Bantu languages on these aspects, and extends the comparison to Indo-European languages (English, Dutch and French). It was found that Ruhaya has left-headed compounds, and words from the same and different lexical categories can combine to make up compound words. Law Number 6 of 2014 on Village—apart from its political contribution in democratizing statevillage relation—has a fundamental limitation on natural resource issues in the village in the light of agrarian and ecological crises.
