Web 2.0 includes blogs, wikis, user-generated media, social networking: like much of what it describes, the definition is amorphous and inexact." Since its entrance in Egypt, blogs have had a powerful effect on the political, social, and economic aspects in Egypt. To be able to measure those effects, it is important to know the intentions of those Egyptian bloggers. This study applies the uses and gratifications theoretical framework to this notion of blogging. As it is based on a survey which attempts to examine and explore the different uses and gratifications of blogging in Egypt.
