The Mankato Figure Skating Club (MFSC) is a non-profit community sports organization that provides skating lessons to the Mankato Community. The main problem facing MFSC is its unstable membership numbers. The purpose of this project is to use research and analysis to uncover strategic and creative solutions. Secondary research revealed that volunteer volume, management, organization culture, and community investment are important in running a successful non-profit sports organization. MFSC needs to grow its membership numbers, otherwise this 50-year-old organization may have to disband. The Minnesota-based nonprofit organization Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) exists to deliver effective energy solutions to cold-climate states. Its primary mission is to make energy more affordable for residents and businesses, promote environmental equity, and lower carbon footprints. This project considers the social and political landscape in the United States and its impact on environmental nonprofits. Given the status of grants allocated for energy efficiency programs, while prioritizing the organization’s business development goals, Center for Energy and Environment must diversify its revenue streams. This table will showcase the work of the Living History Project at Winona State University which preserves the history of WSU by documenting the careers of people who have impacted the university for the better. The table will display three short documentary films produced by students during the Fall 2025 semester, running on a monitor with headphones on a continuous loop. The films feature Tom Sawyer (former football coach), Jo Stejskal (former Dean of Nursing), and Jim Bromeland (former Professor of Political Science). Applied research was conducted, which included reviewing news articles, industry reports, and descriptions of state licensure. Key insights revealed that the bakery's current challenges influenced previous owners to sell Donut Star. This project is the first to gather data and provide a strategic analysis for Donut Star. It aims to help Donut Star increase wholesale accounts and incentivize direct consumers to preorder. Diffusion of Innovation Theory was used to develop the communication strategy. Primary research included in-depth interviews with management and observations of direct consumers. Project Get Outdoors, LLC, or Project GO, is a non-profit organization based in Wabasha, Minnesota. The organization’s mission is to provide outdoor experiences that develop healthy kids, particularly for underprivileged and marginalized youth. They do this through training and supporting Southeastern Minnesota community organization leaders and volunteers. Project GO provides three types of outdoor training including Early Childhood Training, Traditional Leadership Training, and Minnesota Master Naturalist Training. This project examines M State Foundation and Alumni’s efforts to increase donations from the alumni of Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State). The donations provide scholarships, emergency grants, food pantry supplies, and academic program support. The Foundation has consistently fallen short of fundraising goals, but with over 19,000 alumni, an opportunity exists to rebuild engagement after years of disconnection due to name changes and mergers. Westfield opened for business in 1923 and is operated by Westfield, LLC, and overseen by a board of directors that ensures compliance with the terms of a deed for the land on which Westfield sits. The golf course has seen consistent success since its inception, but due to changing economics and increased competition, its membership has declined from a high of approximately 1,200 members in the 1980s to around 300 today. This talk profiles the artist’s experience with a laryngeal cancer diagnosis and the medical interventions that follow.
