A Cross-Cultural Content Analysis Of Television News: Weslaco And Abilene, Texas And Matamoros, Mexico, Biada Pena

This study is a cross-cultural research project involving two small Texas television markets and a third in Matamoros, Mexico. The study compares, through a research content analysis of video-taped TV newscasts, differences and similarities between three markets.
These three markets were selected because of their geographical and cultural characteristics to determine whether geographic proximity or cultural proximity is an indication of similarities.
The study concluded that the Matamoros TV newscasts concentrated more heavily on politics and the economy rather than on crime. The Weslaco newscasts aired the highest numbers of crime related stories while the newscasts in Abilene focused more …

This collection contains copy read on the air by newscasters at WSAZ-TV, the local NBC affiliate in Huntington, West Virginia on Nov. 22 and 23, 1963, during coverage of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The bulletins are based on Associated Press news reports. Also included are two wire photographs of Lee Harvey Oswald being shot and John F. Kennedy Jr. at the funeral of John F. Kennedy.

Analisis dalam kajian ini adalah usaha mencari tafsiran dari imej. Makna imej dalam kedudukannya bertahap, ditinjau supaya pemikiran kedua-dua orang pengarah iaitu P. Ramlee dan Hussein Hanift dapat ditetapkan. Konsepsi visual seseorang pengarah dalam membangun unsur-unsur plastik sebagai jentera penyampai falsafah dan idealisme, diberi perhatian yang wajar dan tinjauan terhadap aspek tersebut dapat dijadikan ukuran untuk menetapkan tahap penguasaan aspek teknikal-mekanikal dalam bidang perfileman bagi pengarah yang dikaji.
