Nonverbal immediacy is a core element of a leader’s ability to lead followers. Nevertheless, there are no empirical studies regarding a link between a leader’s hand gestures and followers’ perceptions of immediacy (attraction to someone) or nonimmediacy (distancing). Guided by Mehrabian’s theory of nonverbal behavior, this study included one independent variable segmented into seven levels (positive hand gestures defined as community hand, humility hands, and steepling hands; three defensive gestures, defined as hands in pocket, arms crossed over chest, and hands behind back; and neutral/no hand gestures) to test for immediacy or nonimmediacy. Department structure and leadership functions can influence work climate. In one healthcare system, advanced practice providers (APPs) worked in a decentralized structure with multiple leaders. This project explored the impact of the change to centralized leadership for APPs working in an academic healthcare system in which employee turnover was high and satisfaction was low. An ad hoc committee led by the chief medical officer created a centralized department with a designated leader. The purpose of this multiple case study was to explore the SMM strategies used by small business retailers to engage customers. The conceptual framework for this study was Rogers's diffusion of innovations theory. Participants included 5 small business retailers who had been in business for at least 5 years, used effective SMM strategies to engage customers, and were located in the southwest region of the United States. งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้ทำการศึกษาแนวทางการสื่อสารของผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดในอินสตาแกรม สำหรับสินค้าประเภทอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม โดยวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ จากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกับผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดในอินสตาแกรมสำหรับอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม จำนวน 5 ท่าน และทำการศึกษาการเปิดรับ ทัศนคติ และพฤติกรรมการตอบสนองของผู้บริโภคที่มีต่อผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดในอินสตาแกรม สำหรับสินค้าประเภทอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม รวมถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างตัวแปรทั้ง 3 โดยวิธีวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ จากการสำรวจกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 400 คน จากผลการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพพบว่า ผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดแบบบุคคลธรรมดา มักจะโพสต์เฉพาะภาพนิ่ง ส่วนผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดที่มีชื่อเสียง มักจะโพสต์ภาพเคลื่อนไหว และจากผลการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณพบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างส่วนใหญ่เลือกที่จะติดตามผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดทั้ง 2 ประเภท โดยมีความถี่ในการเปิดรับเป็นประจำทุกวัน ซึ่งรูปภาพเป็นรูปแบบของสารที่เปิดรับมากที่สุด ทั้งนี้กลุ่มตัวอย่างเห็นด้วยอย่างยิ่งต่อทัศนคติที่ว่าผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดมีความสามารถในการสร้างเนื้อหาให้น่าสนใจ และกลุ่มตัวอย่างมีพฤติกรรมการตอบสนองโดยการกดติดตามมากที่สุด ในขณะที่การเปิดรับสารมีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวก กับทัศนคติของผู้บริโภคที่มีต่อผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดในระดับต่ำ และทัศนคติของผู้บริโภคที่มีต่อผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดมีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวก กับพฤติกรรมการตอบสนองของผู้บริโภคที่มีต่อโพสต์ในระดับปานกลาง

งานวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1.) ศึกษาลักษณะการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้สูงอายุ 2.) เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยทางจิตวิทยาทั้งภายในและภายนอกกับผลต่อการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้สูงอายุ 3.) เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบปัจจัยทางจิตวิทยาภายใน ปัจจัยทางจิตวิทยาภายนอก และการรับรู้คุณลักษณะของนวัตกรรม และ 4.) เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองและความพึงพอใจในชีวิต ระหว่างผู้สูงอายุที่มีปริมาณความเข้มข้นในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ระดับมากกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีปริมาณความเข้มข้นในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ระดับน้อย กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้สูงอายุทั้งชายและหญิงที่มีอายุ 60 ปีขึ้นไป โดยทำการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกับผู้สูงอายุ รวมทั้งสิ้น 25 คน จากนั้นทำการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีปริมาณความเข้มข้นในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ระดับมาก และผู้สูงอายุที่มีปริมาณความเข้มข้นในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ระดับน้อย รวมทั้งสิ้น 730 คน ซึ่งทั้งหมดอาศัยอยู่ในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร ผลการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพพบว่า ผู้สูงอายุตัดสินใจใช้งานเครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์เนื่องจากแรงกระตุ้นจากเพื่อน ลูกหลาน และบุคคลที่ชื่นชอบ โดยจะใช้งานใน 4 ลักษณะ ได้แก่ ใช้สร้างความสัมพันธ์กับคนอื่น ใช้หาข้อมูลข่าวสาร ใช้แสดงอารมณ์ความรู้สึก และใช้สร้างความภูมิใจในตน โดยปัจจัยที่แตกต่างกันอย่างมากระหว่างผู้สูงอายุที่ใช้งานเครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์กับผู้ที่ไม่ได้ใช้งานคือ การรับรู้ความสามารถของตน (Self-efficacy) นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่า การใช้งานเครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ช่วยส่งเสริมให้ผู้สูงอายุเกิดการสร้างเสริมพลังในตนเอง (Self-Empowerment) โดยเฉพาะในการหาข้อมูลที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อสุขภาพ ซึ่งส่งผลทำให้ผู้สูงอายุเรียนรู้การดูแลสุขภาพได้ด้วยตนเอง ไม่ต้องพึ่งพาผู้อื่น นำมาซึ่งการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองและความพึงพอใจในชีวิต ส่วนในการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ ผลการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุคูณพบว่า ตัวแปรที่มีประสิทธิภาพในการพยากรณ์การใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้สูงอายุมากที่สุดคือ ปัจจัยทางจิตวิทยาภายในตัวผู้สูงอายุ (Adjust R2 = .325) ซึ่งพยากรณ์ได้ที่ร้อยละ 32.5 ถัดมาคือ ปัจจัยทางจิตวิทยาภายนอกตัวผู้สูงอายุ (Adjust R2 = .313) ซึ่งพยากรณ์ได้ที่ร้อยละ 31.3 และคุณลักษณะของนวัตกรรม (Adjust R2 = .187) ซึ่งพยากรณ์ได้ที่ร้อยละ 18.7 ตามลำดับ

Research has shown that political satire programs offer both important information about contemporary politics and offer very humorous, entertaining content. This study seeks to understand how these satire programs bolster both internal political efficacy and political

participation. 400 college students at two Northern California universities participated in this research. The study found that affinity for political humor can predict levels of internal political efficacy. Exposure to liberal satire was negatively correlated with affinity for political humor and political participation, and exposure to conservative satire was significantly correlated with internal political efficacy. The problem of online misogyny and women-based offending has become increasingly widespread, and the automatic detection of such messages is an urgent priority. In this paper, we present an approach based on an ensemble of Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, and Naïve Bayes models for the detection of misogyny in texts extracted from the Twitter platform. Our method has been presented in the framework of the participation in the Automatic Misogyny Identification (AMI) Shared Task in the EVALITA 2018 evaluation campaign.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the organizational effectiveness of internal crisis communication within the strategic management approach, whether it enhanced voluntary and positive employee communication behaviors (ECBs) for sensemaking and sensegiving. This article analyzes the Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, showing that a subset of the dissent constructed devout religious groups as victims to re-articulate power relations between the state, LGBT groups, and religious entities. This re-articulation is possible as a consequence of ambiguity in the legal concept religious liberty, which is explored in depth. That ambiguity is employed to mount an argument against the decision, moving LGBT individuals from oppressed to oppressor of religious groups. Purity culture is a movement many young Evangelical Christians experienced in the 1990s and early 2000s. Purity culture espouses many values including practicing abstinence until marriage, observing strict dating and/or courtship rules, and remaining physically, emotionally, and spiritually pure. In 1997 Joshua Harris authored I Kissed Dating Goodbye (IKDG) which popularized purity culture principles. Over the past twenty years, Harris reflected on his writings as well as feedback from others to determine that some of what he wrote was incorrect. This thesis has used the methodology of an ideological criticism on the long-running science-fiction television series, Doctor Who. Argued within, is that an ideological paradigm shift occurred during the fifty years of scripted storylines. To discern evidence supporting the shift, multiple episodes were viewed from each of the first eleven Doctors. During the viewing process all aspects presented within the show, such as dialogue, movements, tactics, and traits, were explored for ideological agency.
