Communication Apprehension And Communication Technology: A Quantitative Study, James A. Baumann May 2002

Communication Apprehension And Communication Technology: A Quantitative Study, James A. Baumann

All-Inclusive List of Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This study investigates if a correlation exists between communication apprehension and computer-mediated communication apprehension. Data was collected through the administration of McCroskey's (1982) PRCA-24 and Clarke's (1991) CMCA Scale to a population of 721 students. A purposive sample of 102 students was then selected to serve as participants in the study. Results were analyzed using Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (Pearson's r) to determine the degree of correlation that exists. Research concluded that little to no correlation exists between the two variables, thus rejecting the hypothesis. Results from the instruments are reported in raw form as well as an interpretation …

Tightrope Walking: Finding The Balance Between The Military And The Media During Modern Wars, Marcie A. Young

Undergraduate Honors Capstone Projects

Access to information during national conflict is like walking a tightrope, and the military and the media are dependent on the tension to keep balance.

In times of war, the military and the media fight a battle of their own - a battle revolving around the dichotomy of secrecy and information. The military, notorious for keeping secrets, and the media, notorious for finding and reporting those secrets, are naturally in opposition.

Sojourner Truth: A Video Essay, Christina Laemers

Honors Theses

To hear people talk about Sojourner in areal context, with real stories from her days in Battle Creek gives the story the human element that eluded me for quite a time. Though my story changed its focus several times, the meaning of the project was always in the back of my mind. I really had to struggle to keep it in focus as time went on and the project began to grow exponentially.
