From The Garden: A Fun Cookery Book For Young Chefs, Mandie Rekaby, Luna Fox
Publications
As the crops were growing this year at Togher Community Garden children and indeed adults often asked us what we were going to do with the produce? It was partly in response to their inquiry that we came up with the idea of cooking classes for children and subsequently this little book.
We are very lucky to have a chef amongst our community gardeners. Mandie Rekaby is not only a chef but a wonderful communicator who loves children, she designed and ran the classes. For four weeks in August we relied on a simple camping stove and our novel smoothie …
Things To Consider Before Co-Signing A Loan, J. David Aiken
Things To Consider Before Co-Signing A Loan, J. David Aiken
Cornhusker Economics
In the context of family farms, includes some general points to consider before you sign a loan guarantee for a family member who is heavily in debt.
Conclusion: Having to consider whether to co-sign a child's loan is a very difficult situation-no one wants to be part of losing part of the family farm or ranch to loan foreclosure. But if the loan guarantee isn't part of a financial turnaround plan that has at least a fighting chance of success, don't sign the guarantee unless you absolutely don't need the money for your own retirement.

Quality As A Component Of Value: Using Resources For College Libraries To Assess Course Assigned Texts, Julie A. Murphy, Rachel E. Scott
Faculty and Staff Publications – Milner Library
Although potential student savings is perhaps the most meaningful measure of the success of any textbook affordability initiative, as librarians we are nonetheless interested in considering how a significant shift in collections strategy might impact our collections. We demonstrated in the first semester of the project that usage of ebooks assigned in courses is much higher than those that are not currently assigned. We also confirmed that usage is greatly increased when faculty members notify their students that an assigned text is available to them through the library. But beyond savings to students and demonstrated high usage, we wanted information …

Faculty, Staff and Students Publications
BACKGROUND: Functional abdominal pain disorders (FAPDs) are highly prevalent and associated with substantial morbidity. Guided imagery therapy (GIT) is efficacious; however, barriers often impede patient access. Therefore, we developed a GIT mobile app as a novel delivery platform.
OBJECTIVE: Guided by user-centered design, this study captured the critiques of our GIT app from children with FAPDs and their caregivers.
METHODS: Children aged 7 to 12 years with Rome IV-defined FAPDs and their caregivers were enrolled. The participants completed a software evaluation, which assessed how well they executed specific app tasks: opening the app, logging in, initiating a session, setting the …

Specific Impairment Of High School And College Students With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Kayla Boaz
ONU Student Research Colloquium
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, is a common neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. For decades, ADHD was regarded as a disorder that primarily impacted children in academic settings; we now know that ADHD often lasts into adulthood and causes not only academic impairment, but social, emotional, and executive functioning impairment as well.
The transition from high school to college is characterized by increased expectations for emotional regulation abilities, social skill functioning, academic achievement, and personal responsibility. Furthermore, emerging adults are frequently exposed to new experiences with substance use and sexual activity. For emerging adults with ADHD, …

The Influence Of Faith On Women In Leadership Positions, Ashley Adams, Ashley Michel, Stephanie Howard, Macie Stringer
Graduate Research Conference
Women are still underrepresented in leadership roles and still suffer from gender stereotypes and injustice. Women of faith are frequently stigmatized by both their faith and place of employment. This study is about women of faith who held leadership roles in rural communities. The objective of this study is to examine the experiences of women of faith in leadership, their qualities, and knowledge as effective leaders. The data used in this study is secondary and it was obtained from a parent study entitled, “Women Ascending to Leadership Positions in Rural Nonprofit Organizations.” This parent study used a snowball approach to …

The Effects Of Child Sexual Abuse On Children With Autism, Octavia Daniels-White, Joanna Odom, Mariela Wilthew
Graduate Research Conference
The purpose of conducting this research was to understand the effects of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) on children with autism, and how behaviors attributed with CSA easily get mistaken as behaviors attributed with autism, leaving them more vulnerable to CSA. The research question used in this study is: How does Child Sexual abuse affect children with autism? This paper is a systematic review, which entailed using a sampling of professional and scholarly articles published in recent years to answer a question or understand a subject matter, in this context being the effects of CSA, with the focus demographic being children …
