The Study Of Missing Dots Of Electromechanical And Laser Engraved Cylinders, Xiaoying Rong, Alexandra Pekarovicova
The Study Of Missing Dots Of Electromechanical And Laser Engraved Cylinders, Xiaoying Rong, Alexandra Pekarovicova
Graphic Communication
According to the previous study, the printability of electromechanical engraved cylinder and laser engraved cylinder were different in terms of density, tone reproduction and mottle. In this study, the missing dots of two different engraved cell types were investigated. It showed that different cell structures had strong effect to ink transferring and the characteristics of missing dots. Lasers engraved cells were less affected by ESA (electrostatic assist). When there was no ESA applied, the laser engraved cells showed less missing dot area, which indicated better ink release from spherical shaped cells. ESA had more effects to coated substrates than supercalendered …

The Climate of Environmental Justice: Taking Stock (March 16-17)
On March 16-17, The Climate of Environmental Justice: Taking Stock conference gathered 125 academics and practitioners from around the country to consider the pressing issues facing low-income and/or communities of color that continue to be subjected to a disproportionate share of environmental maladies.
"Some people are more equal than others when it comes to bracing ourselves for the impacts of climate change," said conference organizer Professor Maxine Burkett. "Whether it's because poor folks lived in the lowest areas of New Orleans when Katrina floodwaters rushed in, or are less able to afford the cooling bill during increasingly frequent heat waves, …

Internet Protocol Geolocation: Development Of A Delay-Based Hybrid Methodology For Locating The Geographic Location Of A Network Node, John M. Roehl
Internet Protocol Geolocation: Development Of A Delay-Based Hybrid Methodology For Locating The Geographic Location Of A Network Node, John M. Roehl
Theses and Dissertations
Internet Protocol Geolocation (IP Geolocation), the process of determining the approximate geographic location of an IP addressable node, has proven useful in a wide variety of commercial applications. Commercial applications of IP Geolocation include market research, redirection for performance enhancement, restricting content, and combating fraud. The potential for military applications include securing remote access via geographic authentication, intelligence collection, and cyber attack attribution. IP Geolocation methods can be divided into three basic categories based upon what information is used to determine the geographic location of the given IP address: 1) Information contained in databases, 2) information that is leaked during …

Geospatial Informational Security Risks And Concerns Of The U.S. Air Force Geobase Program, Scott A. Bryant
Theses and Dissertations
Technological advancements such as Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and the Internet have made it easier and affordable to share information, which enables complex and time sensitive decisions to be made with higher confidence. Further, advancements in information technology have dramatically increased the ability to store, manage, integrate, and correlate larger amounts of data to improve operational efficiency. However, the same technologies that enable increased productivity also provide increased capabilities to those wishing to do harm. Today’s military leaders are faced with the challenge of deciding how to make geospatial information collected on military installations and organizations available to authorized communities …

On 14 March 2007, a local farmer discovered an M-77 submunition while harvesting banana trees in his plantation, which had been cleared by [Demining group] using sub-surface BAC procedures. At the time of the cluster strike, the ground was extremely soft and an accurate threat assessment by [Demining group] had ensured that sub-surface clearance operations were conducted.

The Anchor: 2007
The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

The Wto Decision On U.S. Cotton Policy, Rita Abdelnour, E. Wesley F. Peterson
The Wto Decision On U.S. Cotton Policy, Rita Abdelnour, E. Wesley F. Peterson
Cornhusker Economics
In 2002, Brazil filed a complaint about U.S. cotton policies with the World Trade Organization (WTO). After initial consultations and review of the Brazilian complaint, the WTO established a dispute resolution panel in March 2003. The panel returned a ruling in favor of most of the objections in Brazil’s petition in September 2004. The United States appealed this decision but the WTO Appellate Body upheld the original judgment in a ruling issued on March 3, 2005. The cotton subsidy case is of importance for the U.S. cotton industry, but it also has implications for other U.S. commodities. The federal programs …
