Massively Parallel Computation Of Large-Scale Spatial Price Equilibrium Models With Discriminatory Ad Valorem Tariffs, Anna Nagurney, Charles F. Nicholson, Phillip M. Bishop
Massively Parallel Computation Of Large-Scale Spatial Price Equilibrium Models With Discriminatory Ad Valorem Tariffs, Anna Nagurney, Charles F. Nicholson, Phillip M. Bishop
Agribusiness
In this paper, we develop a perfectly competitive spatial equilibrium model in price and quantity variables in the presence of discriminatory ad valorem tariffs, a widely used trade policy instrument. We derive the equilibrium conditions and formulate them as a variational inequality problem. An algorithm is then proposed for the computation of the equilibrium pattern and convergence results established. The algorithm resolves the problem into very simple subproblems, each of which can be solved simultaneously and in closed form. Finally, the algorithm is implemented on the massively parallel Thinking Machines CM-2 and CM-5 architectures, known as the Connection Machines, and …

Friendship: An African-American Community On The Prarie Margin Of Northeast Texas, Melissa M. Green, Duane E. Peter, Donna K. Shepard
Index of Texas Archaeology: Open Access Gray Literature from the Lone Star State
The following report summarizes the findings of an intensive archival and oral history review, coupled with limited archeological investigations, of the small post-Reconstruction era African-American community of Friendship located on the Prairie Margin of Northeast Texas. The archival and oral history reviews concentrated on the community as a whole between the years of 1880 and 1945: its beginnings, its social and religious structures, its economic development, its interaction with other communities in the area, and ultimately, its demise. The archeological investigations were directed more toward individual sites or homesteads within the community. The results of these investigations have culminated into …

CBN Statistical Bulletin
Financial data is compiled from documents like balance sheets and financial statements, which are primarily designed for legal and administrative purposes. The Finance and Accounts Department uses Bloomberg sources to prepare CBN accounting balance sheet data for the Research Department to compile analytical accounts. The Financial Statistics Office compiles the analytical CBN balance sheet without reclassifications or rearrangements of available accounting data. The consolidation of accounts of monetary authorities and deposit money banks produces monetary survey accounts. Monthly interest rate returns are used to compute weighted average lending and deposit interest rates. Deposit rates are computed for various maturities. Clearing …

The Encoding Of Frequency Information As An Automatic Process: A Quantitative Review, Kellie Goedart
The Encoding Of Frequency Information As An Automatic Process: A Quantitative Review, Kellie Goedart
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
People use information on how often events occur as the basis for many decisions they must make. For example, it has been shown that people will credit a statement as being more true the more frequently they have heard it. Additionally, probability information derived from observations of the frequency of occurrence of events has been shown to play a role in concept formation. One of the primary controversies in the study of how individuals process frequency information revolves around the contention that the encoding of frequency information is an automatic process (one that requires little or no attentional capacity and …
