Student Satisfaction With The Counseling Education Program At The University Of Texas Of The Permian Basin, Christy Hamilton

A survey was conducted to assess student satisfaction of the Counseling Education program at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. The survey was given to currently enrolled counseling education students. Fifty-seven out of 68 students completed the survey. Several recommendations were made based on the results. Overall, the program is perceived as adequately meeting the satisfaction of the students.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders In Adults And Insecure Attachment, Shirley Lee Bates

The purpose of the present study was to examine the relationship between obsessive-compulsive symptoms and disorders in adults and lack of secure childhood attachment. An additional hypothesis was that obsessive-compulsive individuals would most closely fit an avoidant pattern of adult attachment. A group of obsessive-compulsive adults, a group of adults with other emotional symptoms, and a normal group of adults representing the general population were measured using the Maudsley Obsessional-Compulsive Inventory, the Parental Bonding Instrument, the Attachment Style Questionnaire and Bartholomew’s Four-Group Model of Attachment. The field of counseling is a rapidly changing profession, and counselors, both new and old must learn to adapt to these changes. The counselor should decide on and maintain a basic theory of counseling, and yet not allow that theory to be so rigid that it fails to use some of the benefits from other theories when applicable. The counselor should learn to look at all sides of an issue before deciding what stand to take on that issue, and the stand should be one that inevitably is aimed at his/her enhancement as a counselor.

Financial data is compiled from balance sheets and financial statements, which are primarily designed for legal and administrative purposes rather than economic analysis. The Finance and Accounts Department prepares the CBN accounting balance sheet data for the Research Department, using the monthly return of Assets and Liabilities and the summary trial balance as benchmarks. The Financial Statistics Office compiles the analytical CBN balance sheet without major reclassifications or rearrangements. The consolidation of accounts of monetary authorities and deposit money banks produces monetary survey accounts. The purpose of this paper is to re-estimate the impact of Social Security on aggregate private saving behavior by using new time series data for the period 1947 through 1993. The analysis is based on the life-cycle hypothesis developed by Modigliani and Ando. Feldstein's extended life-cycle model, incorporating Social Security Wealth (SSW) into the traditional life-cycle model, provides the building block for this paper. A Generalized Least Squares (GLS) procedure is used to perform the time series analysis in order to avoid autocorrelation, which is usually associated with the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) procedure. With the great increase in the number of violent crimes committed by juveniles, the rights of their victims are greatly overlooked by a. judicial system which does not meet the changing needs of society. Violent juvenile crime has transformed completely over the years in frequency. in the types of acts committed, and in the profiles of the perpetrators. Great changes in federal and state laws concerning the treatment of such violent youths are taking place; however, nothing is currently being done to ensure the rights of the victims of juveniles. These aspects of the judicial system are explored.

This paper presents an approach for integrating simulation modeling and analysis capabilities within the workflow management system (WFMS) being developed in the Large Scale Distributed Information Systems (LSDIS) Lab at the University of Georgia. Simulation modeling can be used for studying the efficiency of workflow designs as well as studying the general performance and reliability of WFMSs. We also discuss the importance of using sophisticated monitoring and animation capabilities, and the use of workflow management technology to advance simulation technology itself. Finally, we demonstrate a sample simulation where tasks and task managers are simulated.

The rock lobster processing industry in Western Australia has a long history of management. Whilst management of the industry through the Fisheries Department has obviously been successful in helping to build the rock lobster industry into one of the State's major export industries, this approach is not without problems. As international trade between China and the United States has increased markedly in recent years, negotiation behavior between Chinese and Americans has become a timely issue. Most research conducted in this area discusses the fundamental cultural differences between East and West, as well as the difficulties Westerners have in negotiating with the Chinese. Little was written on the actual negotiation behavior itself. This paper is focused on the negotiation behavior between Chinese and American business people. Physical attractiveness and its relation to the theory of sexual selection deserve renewed attention from cultural and biological anthropologists. This paper focuses on an anomaly associated with physical attractiveness-in our species, in contrast to many others, males seem to be more concerned than females with the attractiveness of potential sexual partners, perhaps because humans show far more age-related variance in female than in male fecundity. The resulting selection for male attraction to markers of female youth may lead incidentally to attraction to females displaying age-related cues in an exaggerated form. The Practicality Of Pre-Doctoral Prescription Training For Psychologists: A Survey Of Directors Of Clinical Training, Garret D. Evans

The Directors of Clinical Training (DCTs) at the nation's 164 APA-accredited clinical psychology programs iii were surveyed regarding their attitudes toward the hypothetical implementation of a sample pre-doctoral prescription training model created by the Ad Hoc Task Force on Psychopharmacology of the APA (1992). A 60% return rate (99 questionnaires) was achieved. Results suggest that the majority of DCTs (62%) remain equivocal regarding the implementation of such training at their program. A majority (62%) identify post-doctoral specialization as the preferred method of prescription training. DCTs' perceptions of benefits stemming from pre-doctoral prescription training served as the most potent predictor of …

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship of primary flight students' performance as it relates to personality. Previous research has provided the basis for the relationship between what an individual accomplishes and personality traits. The individual performance of 30 students were evaluated by two different techniques during an observer flight. One was an evaluation form developed by the researcher and the other, the flight instructor's (P.I.C.) evaluation. The performance data gathered by the researcher was collected in order to provide a secondary set of performance data in case there was no discriminability amongst the flight instructor's evaluation. …

Over the recent seven year business cycle of 1988-94, South Dakota banks have seen their profitability improve significantly. This has contributed to a strengthening of the banks in the state and in their ability to meet the financial needs of their customers and communities. The data in this report show that while bank earnings have been strong, the gains have not been distributed evenly across banks of all sizes. The data also demonstrate the related differences in loan portfolios among the banks of varying size. The idea of a balanced budget is a fine start on the path towards governmental fiscal stability. The much harder task comes in identifying the specific spending cuts that should be made and attracting sufficient public support for such tough action. Currently, powerful interest groups are able to push very hard for the particular spending programs that benefit them. One solution to this problem would be to refer budget cuts to a bipartisan, blue-ribbon commission. Congress would then be required to vote up or down on the entire package, without opportunity to make exceptions for specific programs.
