The Minnesota Americorps-Youth Works Evaluation Plan, Robert D. Shumer, Jane Maland Jan 1995

The Minnesota Americorps-Youth Works Evaluation Plan, Robert D. Shumer, Jane Maland

Evaluation/Reflection

Passage of the Youth Works bill is important legislation. It brings Minnesota to the forefront of the national service movement and sets standards for other states to follow. Because Youth Works leads the nation in involving young people in service to their community ad their state, the evaluation design also reflects the innovative spirit of the legislation. The state evaluation design incorporates the best of other evaluative studies of service programs and promotes new processes which reflect the intent of the legislation.

The state evaluation of the AmeriCorps-Youth Works Programs promotes programmatic self-evaluation, while it links together state and federal …

The Deputy Country Director was interviewed by the researcher on 18th November 1998 and later send a one page summary of the accident and two others (dated 01/11/95). He said that the victim had initiated a PMN mine at approximately 12:45 whilst prodding with his three-pronged fork. At the time an internal investigation [not made available] concluded that he had not used his detector in that area prior to the accident, which was against instructions from his supervisors. “If he had been using the detector the accident would probably have been avoided.”

The Survival Of The Three Original U.S. Television Networks Into The Twenty-First Century As Diverse Broadcast Programming Sources, Don Robert Fitzpatrick Jan 1995

The Survival Of The Three Original U.S. Television Networks Into The Twenty-First Century As Diverse Broadcast Programming Sources, Don Robert Fitzpatrick

Graduate Thesis Collection

The economic viability of the three original U. S . television networks, ABC, CBS, and NBC, is threatened by emerging competition, excessive regulation, and the proliferation of new broadcasting and telecommunications technologies. This is a significant problem because United States viewers have depended upon free, diverse, broadcast television programming for more than forty years. This programming has traditionally been provided to viewers at no charge, unlike costly pay-per-view, direct broadcast satellite systems, cable television, backyard or rooftop television satellite receiving dishes, video programming via the Regional Bell Operating Companies (video Dialtone), wide and local area computer networks, or the Internet. …

Leading With Conviction And Purpose, C. William Pollard Jan 1995

Leading With Conviction And Purpose, C. William Pollard

C. William Pollard Papers

In this address at the 1995 College Church Men's Prayer Breakfast (Hilton Hotel in Lisle, IL), Pollard reflects upon contemporary culture's confusing and pessimistic nature. In the midst of increasing amorality and freedoms gone awry, Pollard posits that leaders must serve with conviction and purpose, which for him must be founded upon Christian values.
