Studies have shown that those who are active in community organizations are more satisfied with life and, as a result. are better, adjusted socially. In that case, it is of value to know where an ample degree of participation is found and what institutions and organizations do most to motivate activity among its members. This is an attempt to make such a study in regard to religious groups.

For one hundred years Cache Valley has been a growing segment of the American economy. Alternating periods of national financial stress and prosperity have been reflected in this Valley. In addition, Cache Valley has been confronted with certain distinct economic and financial problems and has produced her own solutions to these problems. Although her economy is based in large part on agriculture, the existence of the state agricultural college and a number of industries in her midst has induced economic growth and influenced economic development. The basic problem confronting the dairy industry today is one of utilizing its total fluid milk production. During recent years the industry has witnessed a general decrease in per capita consumption of dairy products while per capita production has remained fairly constant and in amounts approximating the average for the past 16 years (Table 2 ). As a result the dairy industry has produced a surplus of fluid milk and manufactured dairy products. Practices of land use in Utah show need for community action aimed at more adequate utilization of land and water resources. Use of land for crop production in Utah is limited by topography, soil type, elevation, climate, and moisture (26, p.3). Because of limitations imposed, only a small portion of the land area may be used for cultivated farming. As a rule, large land holdings in Utah are not regularly tilled but are used as range for raising livestock.

The purpose of this study will be to explore the feasibility of consolidating present public health services within Weber County, Utah into a unified consolidated health department and if such consolidated health department seems desirable to offer an analysis of certain proposals for unification. Public health is a social-political activity by which society attempts to increase longevity and the enjoyment of life.
