A Statistical Analysis Of The Moss Social Intelligence Test., Jane Marie Randolph

Psychology ETDs

This study is not an attempt to answer the question concerning, nor to settle the discussion regarding, the concepts of abstract, social and mechanical intelligence. The Family, William J. Fallis Jan 1934

The Family, William J. Fallis

That was sometime just prior to the Christmas holidays. When first I saw the volume, its 604 pages of 8- and 10-point type cast a foreboding shadow across all my anticipations of holidays and succeeding days. It was easily the largest book on the Sociology 5 reserve shelf, yet the memory of the easy style of the other Folsom book and the fear that …

A Study In Social Distance In A Typical Mormon Community, Anthon Steffensen Cannon

Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of this study is to measure the amount of social distance found in a typical Mormon community, and to investigate the influence of the so-called "Mormon Church" upon the prejudices of its members towards other races and religions. It also aims to experiment with a techique for re-conditioning social distance in order to increase the degree of sympathetic understanding of persons for other groups of people.

A High Peak of Architectural Progress

Some little while ago there appeared on this page a saying to the effect that progress is a blind succession of events fully exposed only through the agency of a capable interpreter. This issue of American Architect is proof of that contention. The Nebraska State Capitol—to which the issue is entirely devoted—is much more than an excellent example of unusual monumental design or even a symbol of democratic government. It marks an important period in the history of building progress. In many ways the architectural genius of Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue dramatized in this design …
