Compliance To Library Rules And Regulations By Students: A Case Study Of Walton Whaley Library Of Valley View University (Vvu), Ghana., Ameyaw Samuel

The study was set up to investigate compliance with library rules and regulations by students at Valley View University (VVU). The study employed a descriptive survey design and simple random sampling technique. The total population of the students at the time of carrying out this study was two thousand, two hundred and seventy-three (2,273). One hundred and twenty-six (126) students were sampled for the study. The instrument used for data collections was a questionnaire. This study sought information from respondents on the problems caused by the students use of cell phones in university libraries in Anambra State of Nigeria. The study adopted descriptive survey research design, that traced the history of cell phones in Nigeria. The population of 3000 registered student’s library users was studied. Sample size of 100 respondents was used. Accidental sampling technique was used to collect data. This study examined the relationship between use of library resources and research productivity of lecturers in Private Universities in South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Descriptive research design was adopted for the study. A sample of 368 lecturers was selected for the study and questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection. 231 copies of the questionnaire were retrieved, representing 63% response rate. Data was analyzed using simple percentages, and mean; Pearson correlation coefficient was used for test of hypothesis.

University and community outreach is an important part of library services, which fosters cohesiveness while involving adequate community support. This paper examines how outreach has become an important part of the library’s mission. Many outreach examples include the partnering of libraries with university departments, offices, and organizations. Other examples include university libraries partnering with community groups, museums, and non-profits. Currently outreach projects are carried out across all libraries, however, a greater emphasis is placed on the recent outreach accomplished at Southwestern Oklahoma State University Libraries.

Background: Although many libraries have offered 3D printing as a service or available technology, there is a lack of information on course-integrated programs for 3D printing in which the library played a primary role. Therefore, librarians at the Touro College School of Health Sciences began exploring 3D printing for inclusion in the occupational and physical therapy curriculum. Pearl Weiler Von Allmen was employed at the University of Louisville School of Law Library from 1940 to 1947 and from 1950 to her untimely death in 1974, going from a library assistant to a tenured full professor and president of the regional law library association. This article highlights many of the accomplishments in the career of a librarian who left an indelible mark on the School of Law.

Building Community Through Festival: Library Orientation On The Quad, Jennifer L.A. Whelan, Laura L. Wilson

Each fall, the Libraries at the College of the Holy Cross host a library orientation festival, “LibFest,” to introduce first-year students to our services. To enhance the festival atmosphere, LibFest is hosted outside with a variety of giveaways and entertainment, including a local food truck. The event provides opportunities for students to informally meet and chat with library staff, while simultaneously learning about our services. Over time, LibFest has grown into a substantial event located in the heart of the campus, encompassing all library departments and branches as well as offices with which we frequently partner.
