Nanoscale science and technology (nano S&T) are at the frontier of global strategic high-tech competition. After examining nearly 160 strategy and planning documents released by scientific and technological powerhouses from 2000 to 2023, the study finds ten common approaches adopted by the powerhouses to advance nano S&T as follows. For the first time, this study draws an Innovation Science Structure Map using the scientific structure mapping analysis method. It takes Essential Science Indicators (ESI) highly cited papers referenced in patents as the foundatial analyzing data, revealing the impact of leading-edge fundamental research on the development of technological innovation worldwide. It identifies the hotspot areas that are driving the advancement of technological innovation and compares the performance between China and the United States in these areas, providing robust data support for informed scientific decision-making. At present, chemical science is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges due to the technological changes brought by artificial intelligence. In order to promote the paradigm shift in chemical research, this study proposes the construction plan of the robotic AI-chemist cloud facility. This system realizes a new paradigm of scientific research by collecting multi-channel data to build a database, developing large scientific models enhanced by chemical knowledge, constructing clusters of robotic facilities, and building an intelligent management decision system, which will dramatically improve the efficiency of scientific research and solve scientific problems in terminal applications. In 2023, China’s economy maintained a recovery trend after the epidemic. However, the economic recovery showed the characteristics of wave-like development, and it is expected that China’s economy will grow steadily and rapidly in 2024. This study introduces a comprehensive approach to forecasting annual GDP growth, integrating input-output models, econometric models, prosperity analysis, expert insights, and scenario analysis. Reviewing China’s economic performance in 2023 and the prevailing global and domestic conditions, it is projected that China’s GDP growth rate will be around 5.3% in 2024. In May 2013, with the release of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) as a symbol, the reform of international research evaluation began. Over the past decade, the reform of international research evaluation has undergone extensive theoretical preparation and initiatives, and is now moving towards practice. More than 350 institutions from over 40 countries have signed agreements to reform research evaluation and carried out pilot reforms, with initial results. This study systematically summarizes and analyzes the ten-year reform of international research evaluation in three aspects: reform goals, measures, and cases.
