As attention to racially charged events and subsequent social activism rhetoric increases, researchers and professionals express a growing interest in understanding the influence of such events on police officers' psyche. Researchers have demonstrated that since the 2014 death of Michael Brown, in Ferguson, Missouri, widespread media attention of police violence has negatively impacted police officer behavior, attitudes, and self-legitimacy levels. Yet, underrepresented within these empirical studies are the perspectives and experiences of African American police officers. Occupational stress threatens airline cabin crew and passengers’ health and safety. Airline leaders who lack strategies to address occupational stress may experience adverse impacts on cabin crew health, organizational efficiency, and overall aviation safety. Grounded in the job demands-resources theory, the purpose of this single case study was to explore strategies that upper-level airline leaders used to reduce occupational stress on cabin crewmembers. The participants were five upper-level airline leaders with more than 10 years of airline experience. Data were collected via semistructured interviews, organizational documents, and company records. AbstractA quarter of special education teachers who have been trained through an alternative teacher preparation program have left assigned classrooms throughout the United States after 1 year, and almost half have left within 5 years. However, little is known regarding why special educators, alternatively prepared for the classroom, leave the classroom after 2-5 years of classroom experience. The purpose of this basic qualitative study was to understand why special education teachers enter school districts through alternative teacher certification programs but exit the classroom. Active-duty women in the military seek help through the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) on military bases from social workers with a master’s degree in social work (MSW) who are hired by the federal government or by firms that contract with social workers to serve military personnel. The Pensions Ordinance No. 42 of 1950 (Pensions Act 1950), coded as the Cap 30 pension system, provides for pensions, gratuities, and other allowances for public servants. But despite internal controls, Ghana’s Cap 30 pension payment system continues to suffer from corruption. The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of internal controls on fraud in the payment of Cap 30 pension gratuities and allowances at the national treasury in Ghana as well as the factors that inhibit the effective application of internal controls in the processing, computation, and payment of Cap 30 pension gratuities and allowances.
