The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between personality traits, namely narcissism, entitlement, empathy, and a desire for fame, and a preference for public praise in a student population. Past research has shown that those who are higher in narcissism are also higher in entitlement and that these rates have been rising with future generations. Past research has also indicated a negative relationship between narcissistic tendencies and empathy, inferring that those higher in narcissism tend to score lower on empathy measures. With over 10 million men and women being targeted by domestic violence every year it has increased the need for research on the issue. Previous research has been conducted on how various crimes involving interpersonal violence can occur. The current study looks to expand on this previous research by assessing how interpersonal violence can occur. The study examines Eastern and Western cultures and how they can impact interpersonal violence. Investigating the relationship between a serial killer’s nature (their biological makeup) and nurture (their learned behavior) is important due to the fact that any trauma they experienced as a child makes them more likely to offend as an adult. This study investigated how nature (e.g., biological brain damage and the MAOA gene) and nurture (e.g., their physical upbringing) affected serial killers, specifically the number of their victims, during the ‘serial killer era’ (1970 to 1999). Black people and people of low socioeconomic status are disproportionately incarcerated in the United States of America. For a country that prides itself on being a “melting pot” of people and cultures, this is an extremely impactful issue. One of the byproducts of the disproportionate incarceration that occurs is that Black people and/or people of low socioeconomic status are also given longer sentences than their White and upper-class counterparts. The phenomenon of human trafficking is a growing problem that affects millions worldwide. Literature on the subject suggests that inequality between men and women can be a crucial factor in determining national efforts to combat trafficking in persons. This research studies the association between a country’s efforts to reduce trafficking with the measure of inequality being the literacy rate difference and unemployment rate difference between men and women in each country. An analysis of variance yielded statistically significant results that national efforts to combat human trafficking were associated with inequality between men and women in those nations. Transgender (trans) athletes, particularly trans women, are not widely accepted in sports, which can be shown through a policy analysis of Olympic recognized sports in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. An analysis of the policies of different National Governing Bodies (NGBs) shows that there is inconsistency in trans policies which leaves room for unfairness and a lack of inclusivity. Additionally, each gender, sport, and country has different trans regulations, largely based on assumptions of gender norms as reflected in Metheny’s framework. Additional research on trans athletes still needs to be done all across the world.

Perhaps the most important question in American politics asks what motivates a voter on Election Day? Voter’s decisions affect the direction of our country over the next four years. A long running debate in political science deals with the rationality of voters, concerning itself with the main indicators of vote choice, which include party versus policy. Previous studies have shown that men and minorities are more likely to experience stigma for having mental illnesses (Dupont-Reyes et al., 2020). This study was conducted to determine whether there would be an impact of race and gender on internal and external mental illness stigma. The participants were 179 undergraduate students at a college that is majority white and female. It was hypothesized that men and minorities would experience more internal and external stigma than women and whites.
