The Georgia Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (GLS) is undertaking a year-long "Road Trip" in 2025, visiting a different public library system each week. This initiative aims to reconnect with library staff and potential patrons across Georgia. GLS staff deliver information, promotional materials, and engage with communities to increase awareness and access to their services for individuals with disabilities. The road trip also features a monthly blog to document their progress and build connections statewide.

Since the start of the American Revolution, seventy-seven men have served as Governor of Georgia. Over time, the state expanded westward from the coast to become the largest state east of the Mississippi River. Although individual governors have been studied extensively (particularly in James F. Cook’s The Governors of Georgia), their residences remain underexplored as indicators of electoral power shifts. Based on the information of seventy-seven governors collected from Cook, the New Georgia Encyclopedia, and Georgia Historical Quarterly, this research visualizes the residences of governors at the time of their election by using ArcGIS and reveals the state’s electoral …

The purpose of this study is to examine student psychosocial adjustment and how it may be related to retention and success college students. More specifically, this study will analyze the factors such as social adjustment, academic adjustment, institutional attachment, and coping styles. As of 2022, the United States had 15 million students enrolled in undergraduate programs. 23% of freshman drop out, and students who continue take 6 to 8 years to finish a degree. The design of mental health facilities significantly impacts patient outcomes, especially for individuals with depression. Environmental factors such as lighting, thermal comfort, and access to nature influence mental health. This research explores how architectural design can reduce self-harm incidents and enhance recovery outcomes for patients with depression. The project hypothesizes that synchronizing light patterns and thermal comfort with patients' circadian rhythms will reduce self-harm incidents and improve recovery.

The problem established in the research is that disruptions to circadian rhythms increase the risk of depression, PTSD, and anxiety by 30% (Burns et al., 2022). Suicide is also the second leading …

Using Gamification To Teach Cybersecurity In A Social Science Course: An Experience Paper, Roderick Graham, Medina Williams

Journal of Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice

Meta-reviews of gamification suggest that gamifying course instruction can positively impact learners' behaviors and attitudes, leading to improved learning outcomes. However, there is a lack of literature relaying concrete experiences with developing and deploying gamified content. This experience paper contributes to filling that gap by describing the deployment of gamified instruction to students enrolled in a mid-level university social science course. Over the last several years libraries in the United States have dealt with an increasing number of book challenges and calls for censorship of materials. The challenges and calls for censorship are no longer only from library patrons, but now include national organizations and even local and state legislators. Some of these actions have moved to criminalize librarians and curtail first amendment rights. Due to this new climate, it is important to examine the effect these culture wars have on library collection development decisions. This quantitative study seeks to answer that question with a nationwide survey of library professionals.

Assessing Information Literacy In A Living Learning Community: An Academic Library Case Study, Sara Mccaslin, Sean Kinder

Assessment of information literacy efforts can impact college students’ success and retention. Library outreach and partnerships with teaching faculty, especially those targeted towards first-year students, are important. What The Folk: Analyzing Folk Music Collections In The Mississippi Library Partnership, David Salinero, Fawn Ussery

The Southeastern Librarian

This study analyzes the folk music literature collections held in the Mississippi Library Partnership’s 12 library systems. The authors used Dick Weissman’s 100 Books Every Folk Music Fan Should Own as the primary gauge or standard by which to analyze the collections. Authors also examined new titles that Mississippi libraries have collected since the publication of 100 Books in 2014. Findings include an analysis of popular titles and topics, a discussion of folk music and its terminology, and a look at the value of library partnerships.
