Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
This study tries to examine research on Islamic digital libraries in reputable journals. This study uses descriptive statistical analysis based on 47 publications of selected articles or papers related to Islamic digital libraries which are processed with VOSviewer software. This study finds that research that examines the theme of Islamic digital libraries is still very minimal. The library is a milestone in the history of Islamic civilization and progress in ancient times. This study also found that digital libraries that provide facilities regarding Islamic fields and studies must be developed in relation to the increasingly sophisticated era.

Getting Your Feet Wet: Barriers To Inclusivity In Underwater Archaeology And How To Break Them, Ashley Lemke, Nicole Grinnan, Jay Haigler
Cambridge University Press Open Access Agreement Publications
There is a lack of broad representation in archaeology generally, and in a specialized field such as underwater archaeology, this issue is only exacerbated. Underwater archaeological sites are often “out of sight, out of mind,“” creating a general lack of awareness of underwater cultural heritage and career prospects in many communities. Coupled with a lack of education and the additional demands of working in a submerged environment (e.g., scuba diving), there is a striking lack of diversity in underwater archaeology. Overall, underwater archae-ologists are a largely homogeneous group, particularly along the lines of race and wealth—categories that often overlap. In …

Orphaned Landscapes: Violence, Visuality, And Appearance In Indonesia, Patricia Spyer
Orphaned Landscapes: Violence, Visuality, And Appearance In Indonesia, Patricia Spyer
Art & Visual Culture
Less than a year after the end of authoritarian rule in 1998, huge images of Jesus Christ and other Christian scenes proliferated on walls and billboards around a provincial town in eastern Indonesia where conflict had arisen between Muslims and Christians. A manifestation of the extreme perception that emerged amid uncertainty and the challenge to seeing brought on by urban warfare, the street paintings erected by Protestant motorbike-taxi drivers signaled a radical departure from the aniconic tradition of the old colonial church, a desire to be seen and recognized by political authorities from Jakarta to the UN and European Union, …

Filling In The Gaps: A Diversity Audit Toolkit From Tredway Library, María Evelia Emerson, Lauryn Grace Lehman
Library and Information Science: Faculty Scholarship & Creative Works
In the spring of 2021, the Tredway Library at Augustana College (Rock Island, IL) implemented an audit of the library's print book collection to see if there were gaps in representation of the voices of authors of differing races/ ethnicities; genders; or sexual orientations. With the results of this audit, Augustana librarians now have a better understanding of which voices and perspectives are missing and/or underrepresented in the print collection. This toolkit is intended to assist other libraries / information organizations in undertaking similar diversity audits of their own.
The authors now have an article on this topic, available at: …

Peer Relationships Among Master Of Social Work Students: Social Network Data, Rebecca Mauldin
Social Work Datasets
This dataset is from longitudinal social network analysis research that collected survey data from one class of graduate students (N=142) in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program in a large U.S. public university. The program used cohort-based learning in the first semester after which students were integrated into the student body as a whole. The dataset contains network data about friendships, academic discussion ties, and professional influence among classmates. Student attribute data include archival data from the school (e.g., student demographics, incoming GPA, GRE scores) and survey items (e.g., sense of belonging scale, multicultural perspective, perceived stress). The README.txt …

Planning And Hosting A Virtual Science-Fiction Event Series, Holly M. Surbaugh, Glenn Koelling
University Libraries & Learning Sciences Faculty and Staff Publications
As the University of New Mexico responded to the coronavirus pandemic with emergency building closures and a shift to online services, the University Libraries faced challenges making and maintaining personal connections with users in the absence of face-to-face contact. Recognizing that necessary public health restrictions isolated all students, faculty, and staff to some extent, a science librarian and an English librarian collaborated to develop a series of three Zoom-facilitated programs that provided fun activities (i.e., a movie watch party, a book discussion, and a team trivia game) to engage a socially distanced campus community while highlighting various library resources. They …

Assessment Of The Fluoride Concentration In Drinking Water And Tea In The Arusha Region Of Tanzania, Sophia Bakar, David Kahler, Alanna Bachtlin, Kara Okular, Kathleen Glancey, Abbey Whitewood
Environmental Science Datasets
High fluoride concentrations in drinking water affect millions of people around the world; however, fluoride can come from several sources. The World Health Organization recommends a fluoride concentration in drinking water of no more than 1.5 mg/L; fluoride above this concentration can cause long-term problems known as fluorosis, such as mottled teeth and increased risk of dental caries, or skeletal deformities. Rural communities near Arusha, Tanzania have high fluoride concentrations in their water. Adults and children of the Arusha Region rely heavily on tea for daily water consumption, which has the benefit of disinfection by boiling. Researchers investigated water quality, …
