On January 15, 2015, archeologists from Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Environmental Affairs Division-Archeological Studies Branch conducted a reconnaissancelevel survey of 3 acres of a five acre tract adjacent to State Highway 317 in Bell County, north of the City of Belton. The property will be excavated for a stormwater retention pond. The survey found shallow rocky soils and exposures of limestone bedrock throughout the project area. Historic maps indicated a house structure with the project area. On February 19 and 25, 2015, Energy Renewal Partners, LLC (Energy Renewal) carried out an intensive pedestrian survey on a proposed portion of the Los Vientos IV Wind Energy Project site located on Texas General Land Office (GLO) land. The archeological area of potential effects (APE) totals 8.5 miles (13.7 kilometers), extending from the intersection of Interstate Highway 35 (I-35) and FM 2001 to just east of State Highway (SH) 21 (CSJ 1776-01-018). The survey was undertaken on behalf of Denton Municipal Electric (DME) for a proposed substation facility that will connect with the existing Texas Municipal Power Agency 138 kV transmission line extending from the Denton North Interchange to the Arco Substation. In conjunction with the proposed construction of the southwest segment of State Highway 45 in southern Travis County, the Texas Department of Transportation sponsored archeological testing and data recovery efforts at the Ransom Williams farmstead. Prewitt and Associates, Inc., conducted an interdisciplinary community-based historic archeological study of the farmstead from 2005 through 2011. Extensive archival research reveals that the 45-acre farm was owned and occupied by Ransom Williams and his wife Sarah, both former slaves, from about 1871 to ca. 1905. Land Tejas is proposing to construct a residential subdivision on the tract. The tract is bounded on the east by County Road (CR) 359, on the south by Hunt Road, and on the west by Pool Hill Road. In October 2014, an intensive archeological survey was completed in order to inventory and evaluate archeological resources within the footprint of proposed road widening along Fairgrounds Road between Loop 250 and Pecan Avenue in northeast Midland, Midland County, Texas. The archeological area of potential effects (APE) is approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of existing and additional proposed right-of-way. At the time of this investigation, a preferred alignment was still under consideration. Therefore, the entire proposed and existing right-of-way for all alternative alignments was surveyed. In November-December 2014, the Center for Archaeological Research (CAR) at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) conducted an archaeological survey of 4.3 acres of private property owned by the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW). The survey was required by the City of San Antonio (COSA) in compliance with the COSA Unified Development Code (UDC) Chapter 35.

(Horizon) conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) jurisdictional areas within Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s (Chesapeake) proposed San Lorenzo Creek bridge right-of-way (ROW) in southwestern Dimmit County, Texas (Project Area). Although the Project Area will be located entirely on private property and will be developed with private funds, its construction will require the usage of a Nationwide Permit (NWP) issued by the USACE.
