The hypothesis of unbiasedness of the forward exchange rate as a predictor of the future spot rate has been subjected to extensive empirical testing. some researchers use the level form specification in which the actual spot rate is regressed on the k-period forward rate k periods age. While other use the percent change specification in which the k-period log change in spot rate is regressed on the forward premium /discount. Current view and schema integration methodologies are driven by semantic considerations, and allow integration of objects only if that is valid from semantic and structural viewpoints. We had introduced a new integration technique called structural integration. It permits integration of objects that have structural similarities, even if they differ semantically. This technique uses the object-oriented Dual Model which separates the representation of structure and semantics.

In this paper we introduce algorithms for structural integration. We apply these algorithms to integrate two views of a large university database schema which had significant structural similarities but differed semantically.

Colorado cyclones have been the subject of many meteorologic and climatologic investigations, but few studies have examined cyclone behavior with a specific focus on a comparison of the spring and fall transition seasons in the upper level westerlies. Periods of change in the number of planetary waves lead to a rearrangement of the longwave pattern in the westerlies and an increased frequency of troughs in the southwestern United States. Short wave disturbances andjor jet maximum moving through the long wave pattern create the potential for Colorado cyclogenetic events and also increasing the frequency of severe weather resultant from these events. …

A Survey Of Computer Use In Occupational Therapy Fieldwork Sites, Martha E. Parks

Masters Theses

Eighty-three Western Michigan University occupational therapy fieldwork sites were surveyed to determine: (a) extent of computer use, (b) diagnostic categories with which computers are used, (c) extent of computer knowledge of registered occupational therapists (OTRs), and (d) adequacy of computer knowledge of fieldwork students. Forty-seven (56.6%) of the 83 surveys were returned. OTRs at 36 (76.6%) of the 47 sites currently use computers. Word processing is the most common way in which these OTRs use computers. The most common clinical use of computers is perceptual/motor assessment and treatment, while the most common research use of computers is for report writing. …

The Coalition for Education in the Outdoors initiated a Research Task Force in 1990 with the purpose of supporting the conduct of research in the field and the dissemination of the results. The Symposium at Bradford Woods and these proceedings offer evidence of the success of this task force. At the 1992 Symposium, there was general agreement that the symposium be a regular occurrence. Using the Situational Fear Inventory, outdoor course participants identified the degree to which they experienced social-based and physical-based anxieties at the beginning, middle, and end of their course. Levels of social-based fears were higher and more resistant to modification. Females expressed higher levels of fears. Most fears were reduced significantly through program participation.

Optimal Experience Among Campers In A Resident Camp Setting, M. Deborah Bialeschki, Karla A. Henderson

Research in Outdoor Education

The purpose of this exploratory study was to assess optimal experience, also known as "flow" and "quality of experience," in a resident camp setting. Campers from a private coeducational children's camp in the southeastern United States were asked to record descriptions of their involvement, attitudes, and feelings during randomly selected times during two camp sessions in 1991. The research questions addressed were: How do experiences associated with a quality of experience and flow occur in the resident camp setting? How frequently do they occur? What implications does an understanding of flow have for providing better camp experience.,? Based on this …
