The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many libraries in the United States to focus on providing remote services and reimagine in-person services. At the same time, many library users are not or cannot visit physical buildings and may not be easy to reach. Libraries are communicating new service methods, protocols for health and safety, new and changing hours, policies, and more. This article discusses how libraries are communicating with patrons during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The study is conducted among 100 adolescents in Kerala State in India to know the sharing of information by the adolescents with their parents. The matters they communicate with their parents and the matters they are reluctant to communicate are studied. The data was collected using questionnaire. The analysis of the data was done based on the responses received from 92 adolescents. The analysis reveals that the adolescents communicate with their parent most frequently. The females are more communicative in many respects. They share with their parents the method of teaching, behavior of their teachers, marks obtained in the …

The Grand Valley State University Libraries created a programmatic review process to review, realign, and renew its programmatic areas as the University faced changes and budget challenges. This programmatic review process guide details the Libraries’ guiding principles, prioritization approach, and decision-making criteria created to address the process by which library resources may be allocated. The Libraries were proactively reacting to the University’s projected budget shortfalls as a result of the continued demographic decline in college-aged individuals as well as the global pandemic. The mission was to determine effective combination of apps to support both the workflows and the social connectedness of a collegial staff forced to pivot to working from home with one week’s notice.

The University of Georgia’s Alexander Campbell King Law Library has a staff of around 25 with a strong culture of face-to-face communication, collegiality and socialization. Our work is often team-driven, and small groups walk to nearby coffee shops nearly daily for informal meetings and camaraderie. The Clemson Libraries Campus Feedback Task Force was created to collect feedback from a broad sample of campus constituents. This article outlines the Task Force’s approach and how the group effectively succeeded at the given charge. Seven Libraries employees, each with diverse expertise and a collaborative and supportive mentality, worked together to break down tasks and assign responsibilities based on members’ strengths, identifying and relying on outside partners as needed. Boar hunter for Minangkabau ethnic in Indonesia is a tradition. The goal of boar hunting is to repel boar pests that damage residents’ plantation. However, as time goes by, boar-hunting activities at this time become a media to channel hobbies and are considered as a tradition to increase the existence of men in Minangkabau.
